The background and shaping of these "reportings" by propagandists like 60 Minutes/CBS take time, and are planned to roll out in a manner and timeframe to shape public opinion and gauge reception for and by the public.

This was going to run in this timeframe, perhaps with a more supportive lens of limiting free speech, should have Kamala won which is what they were expecting. Most likely reworked some, to use it to gauge the public's acceptance of the Euro-doomed practices.

I guarantee if we had a democrat in office the German government would request to find a way to prosecute you, and our government would contort the law to somehow say you were interacting unlawfully with a foreign agent and prosecute your here.

It sounds far fetched, but it's going to happen in the future. European governments aren't going back, and democrats want similar powers. A way around the 1st amendment is going to be found
