People catch a cold or flu when reaching a certain viral load. Different for different people.
Masks don't stop viruses from being breathed in…….but they can reduce the number. The degree depends on the type of mask. From N95 to a useless bandana mask.

End result: if you're around someone with cold/flu, masks can delay you reaching the viral load, again, the degree to which depends on the type of mask.

Last week I was in CA with my daughter when she became very sick with the flu. I extended our trip for a couple days until she'd been fever free for 24 hours, but by then I was beginning to feel achy and feverish myself. It's flu season and we are getting nailed with every respiratory illness under the sun right now at work. If I was sick and just had to go to work or the store, I'd consider a mask out of respect for those I'm about to be around.

If I was immunocompromised right now or elderly, I'd probably be masked in public, especially right now. Walking pneumonia has been a big one, speaking of the elder.

I choose the natural immunity method rather than a mask that will not stop the size of flu or la Rona. I took Ivermectin thru the entire thing, never masked up, only filled about 500 food orders daily indicating exposure to 500+ humans, and never caught anything nor did any of my employees.
Every person I knew that did masks, caught it.

No one claimed vaccines stop transmission. If they did, they missspoke or were wrong. Vaccines prime immune response so you end up with less viral load when/if you contract the virus. I choose the natural immunity method rather than a mask that will not stop the size of flu or la Rona. I took Ivermectin thru the entire thing, never masked up, only filled about 500 food orders daily indicating exposure to 500+ humans, and never caught anything nor did any of my employees.

Yep, many chemo patients wear masks these days too. It's a free country so wear them if you want to, just don't tell others they must wear them.

Im not an expert of chemo patients by any means, and TW '82 wore a mask in crowds 15 years ago when she was getting clobbered, but Im reasonably sure that kid wheeling that WalMart Shopper cart around the store with a mask below his nose isn't one of them.
