I have yet to see or hear anything that makes me believe there is any kind of ancient mystery where Aliens or some super advanced civilization was present and disappeared 20,000 years ago.

Who is the guy that posits the theory that the Sphinx is actually around 15,000 years old based on erosion lines? Maybe he is onto something.

And the idea that pyramids are older than advertised and had "other" uses is not new. Been a conspiracy for a long time. The main one being that they were energy generators.
I see what you did there.94chem said:
Why would they build it in BFE?
Underrated films, both of them. And the ride at Universal is a hoot.schmellba99 said:Racheal Weisz......hubba hubba.hunter2012 said:

I had a weird ass dream last night. Was visiting the Mayan pyramids in Mexico. Except the Mexican government had also built Egyptian pyramids and were trying to convince people they were real.

Graham Hancock
He also believes a 20,000 year old advanced civilization built Goblekli Tepe because the people living there when it was thought to have been built by archaeologists 6-8 k years ago weren't advanced enough to build it but he doesn't state how this super advanced society from 20,000 years ago left absolutely zero evidence behind that they ever existed like tools, homes, skeletons, literature etc.
He basically states in all of his theories that either a comet or a flood wiped out all evidence other than the monoliths left today that we attribute to much later periods.
The real problem is the tens of thousands of years figures. Once you start getting there, indeed, much is gone. Probably the most apparent things that might well be there all that time are some road and train tunnels and that kind of underground installation remnants that once uncovered could only have been intelligent work.RDV-1992 said:bonfarr said:schmellba99 said:

Your comment about the zero evidence got me thinking - if we were wiped out by a comet how much would still be there in 20 thousand years? I think there would be some all concrete overpasses that might survive for thousands of years. But tens of thousands?
I think most metal products would be gone or unrecognizable at that point. Certainly all wood, paper, and plastic products. All books (physical and e-books) would be gone, etc. Would an asphalt road be recognizable as a road in 3,000 years? Would the remains of a concrete structure be recognized as an ancient building in 8,000 years? Do we have a Rosetta Stone of our own? Etc. an interesting thought exercise.

Below see an artist rendering of the radar scans recently made public of the largest artificially made structures on Earth under the Giza pyramid complex. The incredible illustration is to scale.. https://t.co/9v1asvHg50 pic.twitter.com/GPhQFXtZkp

Ask someone installing an in ground pool in the Hill Country how easy it is to dig through limestone.
But sure....ancient Egyptians figured it out without TNT.
