Wanted life with no parole. Hate crime is what would have done it but somehow our fair justice system doesn't include violence against whites as "hate".
This is overthinking it, black kids kill other black kids just as flippantly all the time. Way more often in fact.
This was an impulsive act of violence by someone trying to "keep it real" and believing he was defending his reputation. He wasn't gonna be made to leave by anyone. If a black kid on the track team had done it we'd likely be in the exact same spot just with little to no media interest. I think the assumption that he stabbed Metcalf because he was white is both unfounded and missing the point.
you think Austin Metcalf being white had nothing to do with why Karmelo stabbed him?
I think it had everything to do with the media attention the case got, but no I don't think Anthony stabbed Metcalf because he was white. I think he stabbed him because young black men are drowning in a culture that doesn't value human life at all and him not looking weak/being forced to do something was more important to him than Metcalf's life. I have zero doubt if one of Metcalf's black teammates had done the same they'd be dead today instead of him. I know this because the only people black men kill more often than white men are other black men.
That doesn't mean there are no black on white crimes committed because of race, I just don't see any evidence this one was. This was an impulsive act by a stupid kid conditioned toward violence.
I appreciate the nuance and maybe you're right. The crime may or may not have been racially motivated.
But the donations 100% were. This guy crowdfunded over $1M for murdering a white teenager. Let that sink in, or prove that I am wrong. I think the only guy to get more crowdfunding for murdering another person is Luigi Whateverhis face, who is also a darling to the left, and the reason that people donated so much was because, no matter what the facts were, he murdered a wealthy person who they felt contempt for.
If you think "the community" would crowdfund more than $60 for a funeral in Chicago, where there are 6-10 murders a week, you are kidding yourself.
