This is overthinking it, black kids kill other black kids just as flippantly all the time. Way more often in fact.

This was an impulsive act of violence by someone trying to "keep it real" and believing he was defending his reputation. He wasn't gonna be made to leave by anyone. If a black kid on the track team had done it we'd likely be in the exact same spot just with little to no media interest. I think the assumption that he stabbed Metcalf because he was white is both unfounded and missing the point.

you think Austin Metcalf being white had nothing to do with why Karmelo stabbed him?

I don't. Look at how they kill each other. "The Culture" simply doesn't respect authority or life in general regardless of race.

The most dangerous thing a black male can face is another armed black male.

I think it had everything to do with the media attention the case got, but no I don't think Anthony stabbed Metcalf because he was white. I think he stabbed him because young black men are drowning in a culture that doesn't value human life at all and him not looking weak/being forced to do something was more important to him than Metcalf's life. I have zero doubt if one of Metcalf's black teammates had done the same they'd be dead today instead of him. I know this because the only people black men kill more often than white men are other black men.

That doesn't mean there are no black on white crimes committed because of race, I just don't see any evidence this one was. This was an impulsive act by a stupid kid conditioned toward violence.

Sadly, I agree. The moment KA was asked to move all of this was set in motion. KA was looking for a fight and he found one. He felt he was disrespected and something in the way he was raised led him to believe murder was an acceptable response to that perceived disrespect. Further, since that day, he has been listening to the wrong people reinforcing the idea that he did nothing wrong and would face no consequence. Austin could have been black, white, brown, purple, or orange. It didn't matter. The outcome would have been the same because KA is from a culture that still thinks he was 100% in the right.

I appreciate the nuance and maybe you're right. The crime may or may not have been racially motivated.

But the donations 100% were. This guy crowdfunded over $1M for murdering a white teenager. Let that sink in, or prove that I am wrong. I think the only guy to get more crowdfunding for murdering another person is Luigi Whateverhis face, who is also a darling to the left, and the reason that people donated so much was because, no matter what the facts were, he murdered a wealthy person who they felt contempt for.

If you think "the community" would crowdfund more than $60 for a funeral in Chicago, where there are 6-10 murders a week, you are kidding yourself.

It's half the sentence or 30 years whichever is less. So if they sentenced him to 80 years he would be eligible in 30.

Jury instructions in Texas no longer include any notice of parole or early release for good behavior so most jurors are surprised to learn that the convicted may only serve 1/3rd to 1/2 of their sentence.

This is kind of where I stand. I think they're saying he has to serve half but I have a weird feeling he'll be out in less.

He won't, there's programs and stuff available that can show change, but the family carries a lot of weight with parole. That's also leaving out how he reacts when he gets in. If he gangs up, that will be a problem for him because he'll accumulate paper with required fights over the years. My guess is he'll be used as a crash test dummy and have his people pump him up to go do stupid ****, which he will. He will struggle in prison, especially if he ends up somewhere like Rocking Robinson in West Texas. I don't think he gets through prison clean.

If he goes to Ferguson or Beto, he'll have to clique up too, so odds are he'll have to catch some cases inside to survive his time.

This case is simply a tragedy all around. I wonder why kids resort to weapons now, when back in the day fists was all we needed to settle disputes.

Sure, everything that happened after the killing was in part or entirely driven and motivated by the fact that one of the kids involved was white and the other black.

Black teens kill other black teens every day all over this country and you virtually never hear about any of those cases. Same when a white kid kills another white kid. Unless it's a mass shooting event nobody seems to care when the races of the individuals are the same.

Tragedy all around is a great explanation. Just the absolute waste of young lives you can get. Ferguson, Beto, Robinson, it doesn't matter. Homeboy will try to play the game inside and get more time. It's almost like watching his charger stuck on the tracks.

He's trying to provoke a fight, continually encroaching on FSG's boundaries again and again in hopes he'll respond by physically pushing him back. Once FSG touches him, he'll have all the justification he needs to beat (or stab) the guy in 'self defense'. His 'dance' is how he builds up plausible deniability for him and his friends, he "wasn't doing anything, just dancing and singing", even though anyone watching can see this is a clear provocation. FSG doesn't take the bait.

You can see the officers on the outside of the crowd moving in as he starts 'dancing', they know exactly what this is.

I've watched the case since it happened. I admit my typical sources (Texags Forum 16, Branca, Fox) weren't really sympathetic to KA. I've seen it claimed that the gofundme money went to a house, and here on F16, I've seen it claimed that those claims have been debunked.

I want to be fair. Can someone who believes the house purchase claims are untrue or have been debunked point me to the evidence that convinced you?

Point of information, he never made it past $700k in crowdfunding. I believe the original fund (where $600k was raised) was re-opened once the trial began, with a new goal of $1.3 million, but they failed to raise even $100k more than the original amount.

It doesn't take away from your point, these people were obviously either liberal whites paying for their 'guilt' or racist blacks happy a white kid was murdered, just providing context to the numbers.

Does any of that matter? The true stain is the family of a murderer got 700k, who cares what they spent it on. They got that while, publicly victim shaming the victims family, character smearing their dead son, their family and the twin brother of the victim. This is democrat America. The thug the murdered the Ukrainian girl just got 4 more months at a hospital and avoiding that horrific crime further. Its all complete bull*****

Austin's twin watched his brother die. His anguished screams were played in the courtroom. While the crowds outside were demanding "justice for Karmelo."

Disgraceful. But not unexpected. Democrats who are politicizing this are absolute **** humans .
