Cruz and Crenshaw have hated each other for years, and Cruz endorsed his opponent all the way back in 2018. Very fake news CNN sourcing below but probably roughly accurate anyway in this case:

Not everything is a conspiracy, but it's just nasty politics, likely. Supposedly most recently Crenshaw tanked Cruz' air safety bill.

Also notice Abbott didn't endorse Crenshaw either, nor Trump. Probably because he's an abrasive corrupt dishonest jerk, not because they were bought off.

Good points. And Cruz may find a sympatico in Toth's evangelical Zionist leanings. Funny thing - I'm actually studying Zechariah 12 - 14 this morning. Turns out God doesn't need my help to protect Jerusalem.

Toth probably does well with the "I seen it in Revelations!" crowd.

This is quite bigoted.

Not my problem if you can't conjugate the verb "to see," don't read your Bible, but act like you know what's in it because you saw Hagee on a Youtube rant.

had such high hopes for Crenshaw and he quickly trashed everything he ran for. But hey at least he made some money

Pretty amazing and quick fall from grace.

I think part of the appeal veterans hold for voters is the idea that they're serious public servants who are above the fray of petty political games. Getting insnared in social media spats and making weird threats really undid that appeal.

One of the more disappointing GOP congressmen I can remember. Dude was a potential rock star and just fell off completely with weird takes and attacks on conservatives.

Yep.

If he had lived up to the hype, could have easily replaced Cornyn in the Senate, but instead decided to go full ****** for whatever reason.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Yep, but more surprising than anything to me was his remarkably thin skin. He was sensitive to an almost feminine degree. Shocking to see a freakin NAVY SEAL act like such a girly titty baby, over and over again.

Dan Crenshaw has been one of the most unpleasant political surprises in recent years for me.

No doubt. I've lived just across the county line in Harris for 28 years. It's fascinating to compare left-wing graft to right wing graft. In Harris, the politicians steal from the tax-payers to build lousy schools, award no-bid contracts to cronies, high paying do-nothing jobs to subordinates, and allocate public works funding based on skin color rather than demonstrated need. In Montgomery County, they take their money from anyone who claims to be pro-business, allowing contractors to clear cut in flood zones without retention ponds, sand miners to pollute rivers with improper remediation, and boondoggles like dinosaur theme parks to percolate for years (money laundering?). Same level of corruption, but different path to get there.

He has his options. My favorites:

  • Monocle model: They reportedly only get paid half as much as models for eyeglasses, though.
  • Stockbroker: His years of success and killer portfolio speak for themselves.
  • Circus act as "The Man with Incredibly Poor Depth Perception": Just don't mix it with knife-throwing.
  • Major League Baseball umpire: He'll fit right in.
  • Full-time telescope operator: Need someone to look at something through a telescope? He's perfect.
