Its not just symbolic.
It's a moral code that we can all live by, irrespective of your religion.
Actually depending on your religion it is very possible to, for example, have other gods before the god of Abraham

Just remember when you were a 8 year old kid and had to recite the Pledge and a morning prayer how we just mumbled the whole thing and it was just something else to do. I bet for most that it was just a mindless activity. Seeing the 10 Commandments on the wall will turn into another piece of paper for most. When any human is forced to anything everyday. It looses its significance.

GROOMERS!!!

Yes because teaching kids that it's ideal to have a nuclear family with a father and mother at the center of it, for life .. is the same as a trans pedo reading books to a 3rd grader.

How does this not violate establishment clause of 1st amendment and its extension to the states via 14th amendment. As well as contradict the stone vs graham ruling

It does all of that. They just don't care.

I just don't think that Dan Patrick (or any politician) should be telling people what moral code to follow.

Politicians lecturing the rest of us on morality, integrity, health and fitness, etc is a freakin' joke.
Consistency: It's only a virtue if you're not a screw-up.

3) I'm really glad Republicans are forcing us to teach kindergarteners what adultery means.
It might as well be part of the conversation, since Democrats have already been trying to force young children around that age to hear about sex, sexual preference, gender is fluid, you don't need to tell your parents, do what you feel, etc.

I think that's down on the list of concerns parents have for things that teachers could be explaining to their children in this day and age.

It's good to see you have a balanced view of the world. I'm sure there tons of instances of "trans pedos reading books to 3rd graders" in Texas public schools. I bet it happens everyday in most schools.

Texas schools should also have to post the ways that the elected officials who voted for this have violated the 10 Commandments throughout their careers...right next to the 10 Commandments.

Putting the Ten Commandments in school and banning gummies. Focusing on the real important things.

What are real important things to you?
Certainly not religious pandering or telling people they can't ingest something to help them sleep better at night. But hey, if you like the government governing you harder because they're on "your side", kudos to you.

It seems kinda sectarian to require the King James wording. They should allow posting the original Hebrew text.

After reading the text of the bill, I guarantee there will legally compliant posters popping up in schools like this:

It just might give young kids a basis for right and wrong.
Go ask any young adult how they determine right from wrong.
They won't be able to answer or it will be a sliding scale based on how someone feels at the time.

No real religion in schools resulted in the left's religion of wokeness, democrat party platforms and sex with students by some teachers.

Putting God back in schools, putting patriotism back
in schools and reciting the Pledge of Alligence daily would produce miraculous results.

The ignorant boobs being turned out of public schools by leftist teachers and faculty will mostly fail because they were indoctrinated and not taught the basics required to be successful.

We've said the Pledge of Allegiance daily in public schools my entire 23 years of teaching. You'd think that we'd have to post the Constitution or Declaration of Independence before posting a religious document.

You can & you should post the Declaration & Constitution!

They asked Jesus what the greatest commandment was. "Love the lord your God with all your heart soul and strength. And the 2ns is like the first. Love your neighbor as yourself."

This does nothing to love our neighbors.

Why should a public school be providing a pathway to Jesus?

I'm guessing you'd have no issues with a government-mandated pathway to Mohammad, or Vishnu, or the Buddha, or Satan?
Because we were not founded as an Islamic country and were never meant to be a host for that god forsakesn cancer/death cult.

One of the reasons there were so few actual Marxists in communist countries is because in schools, students had that stuff shoved in their faces and down their throats non-stop. The predictable result was they got sick of it real fast and treated it as the joke it was.

And the same result will occur here. However laudable the Ten Commandments might be, this will dilute and diminish their meaning and importance for young people.

What does flying the American and Texas flag do?
What does closing schools for honoring presidents, religious folks, etc. do?

These are all symbolic things to remind us and educate our children.

The Ten Commandments, the Bible, the story of Jesus' life, the Constitution, are all "foundational" FACTS of our country's founding and core to our shared history. If you don't like it; then, I don't know what to tell you.

I'm not saying you have to "believe" in Jesus or the Bible, nor am I saying that you have to follow the Ten Commandments, but to NOT UNDERSTAND THEM and how they are FOUNDATIONAL to our NATION'S HISTORY is simply allowing yourself to get angry over nothing and doing a MASSIVED DISSERVICE to the children of this country.

The rainbow flag, the Islamic faith, communism, etc are NOT FOUNDATIONAL HISTORY to the USA. There is no argument in which displaying those items equate in any way to the items in the first sentence in this post.

Do you know why immigration up until the 1980's worked so well? ASSIMILATION.

People moved here and were expected/demanded that they learn English, learn the Constitution, understand the culture of the citizens in this, United States of America.

You may not need to display them on the wall in every single classroom, but they need to be taught our history.

But, I personally think The US Constitution, the Ten Commandments, etc should be displayed everywhere to remind people what made us great to begin with.

Strange prediction, especially when Christianity (despite the Left's CONSTANT disparaging remarks) has massively grown in popularity among young people in the USA, as well as in nations not historically Christian (ie. South Korea AND CHINA of all places); hell, even Muslims are quietly converting en masse after having "spiritual dreams", and since we want a 'safe & inviting space' for foreign students, displaying the Ten Commandments is a good start to make them & American young people feel 'welcomed'; don't you agree?
