maybe we need more moms, Nurses, and those who have worked in the criminal justice system at first hand.
do you also believe being a farmer is not sufficient for Congress?
"John Dickinson, George Washington, and Samuel Ward all had backgrounds as farmers. Dickinson was known as the "Penman of the Revolution" for his influential essays,
including "Letters from a Farmer in Pennsylvania," which criticized British taxation.
Washington, a prominent landowner and planter, was a key figure in Virginia and later became Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army.
Ward, a farmer and politician, represented Rhode Island and served as a delegate."
in this case though, it appears Massie not being willing to vote yes on BBB 2.0 does not stop it passing in the House. Trump admin's issue right now is the senate; not Massie's house. They have to get one of four hold out R senators to flip or it fails the Senate.MouthBQ98 said:

Yes, Thomas Massie voted to raise the debt ceiling in 2023 under Biden via the Fiscal Responsibility Act, which included spending cuts to avoid default. He justified this as a necessary compromise. However, he opposed the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act, citing its $2.4 trillion…

So massie cast the deciding vote to bring biden's budget out of the rules committee. He was one of my favorites but turns out he's just as phony as every other politician.
"Massie justified his vote by citing a provision requiring Congress to address 12 individual appropriations bills later that year, which he believed would enforce spending discipline, and expressed concern that rejecting the deal could lead to a less favorable outcome driven by Senate leaders like Mitch McConnell."Yes, Thomas Massie voted to raise the debt ceiling in 2023 under Biden via the Fiscal Responsibility Act, which included spending cuts to avoid default. Would you like to add context or just tell people half-truths?

"My vote in Rules Committee to advance the debt deal to the floor does not mean I support the bill — it means I support letting the entire House work its will." -Thomas Massie
While Massie still opposed the bill…

Massie is one of the more principled representatives serving today. Why would you support an opponent?

So what's your context?
It sounds like the same thing trump is asking massie to do now. Personally, I think massie and rand were holding out to get exemptions for ag and hotels. Looks like it probably worked.
It's political theater
Third Rate Congressman Thomas Massie, a Weak and Pathetic RINO from the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky, a place I love, and won big SIX TIMES, must be thrown out of office, ASAP! The incredible people of Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District gave us a mandate to, MAKE AMERICA… pic.twitter.com/o58YjBDFi4

On May 21st, 2024 I ran for U.S. Congress and won, while Ed Gallrein ran for State Senate and lost.
Here are the votes in counties where our races overlapped:
Shelby Co:
Massie - 4,053
Gallrein - 2,276
Henry Co:
Massie - 1,262
Gallrein - 619

You support Massie for one reason, a terminal obsession with Epstein and hoping he'll take out Trump with the Epstein files.

The dems never get straddled with a Massie. Republicans like Massie are a huge part of the problem. He spends more time criticizing Trump than the left. Awful Republican and I hope his constituents realize this.

The fact that we don't march in lockstep with whatever the leaders say the way the dems do is a good thing, not a bad thing. Especially in Massie's case where he's usually fighting for conservative priorities.
