This was a disaster for the administration, makes them seem looney for selecting this bozo in the first place.

Does anyone really want this fool making healthcare policy for you and your family? Alright goaltenders, you're up.

Fauci has a body count in the millions. He was responsible for the research that created COVID and he gaslit anybody who tried to point it out or recommend treatments that he didn't stand to profit from.

RFK holds some very unscientific opinions, IMO.

His fascination with fluoridized water puzzles me, for example. As does his hang up on vaccines that have good data, like, for example, MMR, that I don't get.

I agree with him on a lot: carbs are bad, we need less additives in our food, the FDA holds up too many drugs and pumps out too many vaccines.

I don't think his opinion is always 100% informed by scientific data, but his opinion is definitely not formed by the public opinion winds that blow, which I appreciate.

carbs aren't bad

Highly processed foods are bad.

For people under 60 with no risk factors it was no worse than the flu. It killed many elderly people who had no chance against it. They would have likely died eventually, but the dems helped it along by discharging covid patients from hospitals into nursing homes. Lots of older folks died alone with no contact from their families because Fauci and friends insisted on isolating people who were at almost no risk from the disease.

That seems like a terrible take. I love that we're talking about health. I truly do. And I think RFK does a good job of talking about what is wrong but his ideas on what causes them usually aren't backed up by the science. Therefore we're just having a conversation and not exploring solutions.

It's true that lockdowns and Fauci's prominence began during Trump's presidency. But it's not the case that Trump *personally* imposed or wanted long lockdownshe signed off on early federal guidelines but quickly moved toward reopening and distancing himself from Fauci's advice.

The initial U.S. COVID-19 response including "15 days to slow the spread" in March 2020, school closures, and the CDC's early guidelineshappened under President Trump. Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx, and others were on his Coronavirus Task Force. Trump endorsed the initial shutdown guidance but also emphasized that state governors would decide implementation.

Most actual lockdown orders (stay-at-home mandates, business closures, mask requirements, etc.) were issued by governors and local authorities, not the federal government. The White House provided guidance, which many states adopted to varying degrees.
Trump pivoted toward reopenin and by April 2020 he was publicly pushing for lifting restrictions, and later criticized states that kept strict lockdowns. By summer 2020, he was positioning himself against prolonged closures.

Heres what fjb did:

Mask mandate on federal property (Jan 2021)
Mask mandate on public transit & transportation hubs (Jan 2021)
Ordered improved federal data systems for pandemic response
Signed the **American Rescue Plan Act** (\$1.9T relief bill, Mar 2021)
Launched mass vaccination push
Required vaccines for federal employees & contractors
Required vaccines for healthcare workers in Medicare/Medicaid facilities
Attempted OSHA vaccine-or-test mandate for large private employers (later blocked by SCOTUS)
Extended unemployment & expanded child tax credits during COVID relief
Screwed landlord's
Screwed taxpayers through student loan forgivness then ignored the Supreme court

So, it was what, a month before trump started started complaining about lockdowns?

I tend to give all political leaders during COVID about 4 weeks of grace at the very beginning when it wasn't abundantly clear what it was, how deadly it was, what to do, etc.

But, by the time Biden arrived, we knew the masks were useless. We knew social distancing was bunk. We knew natural immunity worked. We knew kids shouldn't be in masks or eating school lunch outside in freezing weather.

We didn't need Biden to be the second coming of christ. We just needed him to be not the worst president of all time.

I know what trump didnt do. He didn't fire military members. He didn't force med providers into the shot. He didn't force masks on us. He didn't attempt to control anyone that osha could've inspected.

First, you know nothing about me. Second, I don't give a GD about my credibility with you. The Constitution says your vote is no more special than mine. It's high time rightists should remember that rather than trying to treat anyone left of them like second-class citizens. I'm a husband, father, so, etc… same as you. He wrote a conspiracy book just like the rest of his conspiracy books. Almost the entire medical community considers the book as disinformation and misleading but he did capitalize on the conspiracy driven public that want to believe everyone's out to get them.
Just like his current opinion, it's dangerous to public health.
