Let's just say, I remember my dad telling me stories of my grandfather working as a deputy and how the county boys handled business back in the day. D.A and judges also didn't play around. Were things taken to far, sure. However, there was law and order in the streets.
Todays world, I've actually been told to stand down from a robbery in progress because and I quote "We do not want the department to end up on youtube and a bunch of white officers arresting a certain group of suspects".
So me and some county boys have been telling shop owners, if you are getting robbed, report shots fired, we have to respond no matter what. Love loop holes.
In English, we say.
"I wish to be a child again."
But in poetry, we say.
"Return me to that sacred place, where time moved slow and had grace. Before the noise, before the race, where truth still wore a smiling face."
