They voted for this.

But if this repeals the Jones Act, I'm all for it.

Update; CA gas spike is 40 cents/gallon…so far.
Quote:

The average California gas price is $4.58 per gallon, up from $4.46 last week and $4.18 two weeks ago. The national average, by contrast, sits at $2.92. That places California roughly $1.66 above the rest of the country.
Here is what makes this different from routine volatility. Nationally, gas prices have trended down over the past year. California is diverging sharply. This is not seasonal fluctuation. It is a structural supply squeeze.
Fresh reporting on the refinery closures driving the increase confirms the speed of the jump:
Quote:

"The price of gas rose 40 cents in about two weeks, with the average price of gas across the state of California at $4.58 a gallon."

Keep it up, buttercup! Good thing Newsom signed that bill in 2024 because 'big oil does not have your back!' That fixed the price spikes as Democrats promised.

Let's reduce carbon by importing gasoline by ship from the Bahamas or Singapore instead of producing it in the state and trailering it down the road a few miles.

******ation is the liberal way!

I just found out the Valero refinery has still been producing gasoline. That ends today.

I couldn't figure out, by casual observation, why prices hadn't gone up quicker and now I know.

Only because thr Bar Area Air Quality Management Board slapped them with a $3.25M fine right before they shut down.

So now CA is going to get hit with another whammy, reduced refinery capability (permanently) and the war in Iran has shut down vlcc transport...so now CA will be at the double mercy of reduced inputs and product being shipped in as SE Asia refineries are going to be strapped for input with higher output demand.
