I really wish he would apply his tariffs and be done with it. Not threaten and roil the markets everyday.

"Ultimately, though potentially painful, it will be a very good thing, in the end, for the U.S.A. One of the Policies that we are calculating at this moment is a massive increase of Tariffs on Chinese products coming into the United States of America," Trump wrote.
Markets have had an uncertain week, pulled in different directions by AI demand hopes and US government shutdown worries. With Friday's decline, all major indexes look set for firmly down weeks after a retreat from record highs.

China is an economic, political, theological and ideological ENEMY of the US. So we need to quit F'ing around with it, either have minimal trade barriers and tariffs on China OR go scorched earth and completely BAN products made in China being imported to the USA. Even ban the import of food from other countries where the goods were sourced in China but assembled offshore in another country.

I know there are 3rd party workarounds and the short term pain would be gigantic, but it would force US companies to source from better and friendlier countries like Mexico, Latin America and South America which can replace much of China production if given the chance.

I have spent much of my commercial finance and banking career in international trade and traveled to China for work, and I can tell you plainly they are deceptive liars and cheaters and we should not be supporting them with our trade $$$.

Why don't we acknowledge that this is in response to China f'ing the planet in the last two days. They've put massive restrictions on rare earth elements and a bunch of other stuff.

Certainly our dumbass fault for letting us become dependent on one country for this. China owns 90% of rare earth minerals on the planet.

Got everyone over a barrel.

Evidently, Xi threatened to cut off the export of rare earth minerals to the United States. This is what prompted Trump's response.

We were crazy to ever allow China to hold that gun to our heads. Trump is trying to fix it.

Our useless Presidents (across both parties) have sold us to both India and China. We are now their slaves.
We cannot even kick out H1Bs without harming ourselves. Well done dumbass CEOs and Politicians of ours.
