If a 10% increase in corporate tax rates were proposed everybody would scream. That's a 10% increase on income which many minimize for tax purposes. Taxable income is not equal to actual income. A 100% tariff on China is even more costly. It's on your COGS way before you even get to income. It'd crush the US as we are now.
