A friend of mine taught under a similar program and taught at a pretty rough school for several years.

It helps to think of this program as less of a student loan forgiveness program and more similar to the GI bill. Serve for x number of years, get your college paid for.

Co-worker of mine had a daughter go to TCU and become a teacher. She chose a low income school to wrok at specifically because of this program, passing up higher salaries to qualify for the loan forgiveness.

Moving the goal posts during the game is flat wrong.

The Wife used this program as well as VA loans to finish her teaching degree after USAA slashed accountants. She made all payments on time, and as part of the program had to teach a few years in a ROUGH part of San Antonio. Trump simply complied with the courts, it seems, so the outrage at him is unwarranted.
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

My wife also used this program to become a teacher.

They really should rename this specific loan to a Teacher Assist Bill.

Most entered those loans knowing it would be forgiven AFTER paying QUALIFYING installments. Which is 120 months of verified income payments.

I'm all for ending loans forgiveness for worthless degrees. But you can't enter into an agreement and then have the rules change.
