Despite the claims to the contrary, Trump is *not* a king or dictator. While I agree with the sentiment, this isn't on Trump.

Debt reduction should be based on the value of the university degree to society.

Trump has to follow the law. If he loses the appeals process and the judgements are pretty clear, he has to have his administration comply with the court interpretation of the law. That is what he is doing.

These debt forgiveness processes were passed by congress as other have stated and signed into law. IF the applicants are eligible and follow the process required, then the public gets to eat the cost. Blame the past congress and president that enacted it.

My point was that the people applied for the loans with a certain set of both requirements and benefits.

The people that meet the requirements should get the benefits they were promised when they signed up for it.

That's why Gen Z or further down the line will eventually assign more powers to the executive in one way or another. Mostly because of the near complete un-accountability of the Congressional class the current setup is unquestionably on its last phase. It has shown it cannot be reformed.

Trump actually does plenty of things to get torqued about and most certainly his decisions / actions can be questioned, but the rage of TDS that flares up when people take things like this and paint it as Trump is a fraud, just like the rest, etc really undermines any actual discussion, particularly criticism of Trump.

Correct me if I am wrong but this program is specifically to entice teachers to work in lower income and undesirable areas for may years. It is the "free market" way to get teachers in those areas and instead of a higher salary, instead paying the loan.
