If they want anybody to take them seriously, they can dedicate a 60 minutes episode to apologizing to everyone for the lies and propaganda they pushed for years fire Leslie Stahl fire every one on the 60 Minutes anchors and start from scratch unless they do that screw them. Hire people like John Stossel Sharyl Attkisson Bill Moyers r Amy Goodman, until then they can pound sand.

Yeah, sorry - not buying it. What was her follow up? For all we know the intent here could just be that she wants them more circumspect . Or she wants them to help persuade viewers to their point of view instead of being truly nonpartisan. Knowing liberals I wouldn't place any bets on anything substantially changing here. Maybe in a year or two I'll be pleasantly surprised but I'm not getting my hopes up.

There is an especially deep irony when "journalists" forget the most basic concept in communications: The message you think you send means nothing in the face of how that message is received. You can think you're nonpartisan and unbiased all you want, but if a large chunk of your audience doesn't agree, it's time to question whether you actually are.

Brainstorming for ideas on how to better hide the bias would be my guess. They're not going to magically change their MOP with the staff already in place and they're most certainly not going to burn it all down and start over. Even if they did wipe the slate, where would they find enough unbiased staff to make it work? Would take a whole lot more than simply replacing the talking heads

Yup, that became very visible when they added Howard Dean as a contributor several decades back. The reasoning was he once worked as a stockbroker(for his dad for a couple of years right out of school). He'd come on and just recite democratic talking points.

Then it hit bottom when they held a Republican (primary candidates) economic debate, and when they got to Ted Cruz, he recited back the personal attack in the questions given to every other candidate, and absolutely left Becky Quick and Carl Quintanilla shell shocked the rest of the night,

Repentance makes you feel better. If they make a change, for whatever reason, that makes them more balanced, then we benefit as a nation.

I remember the NYT editorial board having a come to Jesus moment in 2016 and realizing that they had completely missed the mark on middle America because they were so infatuated with Hillary only to turn around and immediately start a section on racism under Trump that quickly filled up with hoaxes and minimal corrections.

Twenty five years ago I would plan to sit and watch 60 Minutes. Haven't intentionally watched a show since then. CBS should move the show out of NY and get entirely new staff and anchors. I like the ones mentioned above. Stahl and Pelley need to be released. Anderson Cooper is a confirmed leftist. Why would we trust anything they say? And to be clear, I'm not looking for all conservatives. Atkinson and Stossel would be great. Just find anchors who WANT TO TELL THE TRUTH! Anchors who have a burning curiosity for the truth. Why is this so hard for some?

Sure some of us do, but I take it with a grain of salt because she's got a history of the same crap everyone is complaining about on 60 minutes. Has she ever apologized to Tulsi? Nope. Bari apparently spiked a segment on 60 Minutes that was critical of the CECOT facility that housed illegal aliens we shipped to El Salvador. Lots of angry journalists.
