They've got their marching orders and are throwing hissy fits over the renovations going onto the White House. Harry Truman did one of the largest ever at the White House funny how that didn't bother anyone.

Did they really think it was going to stay the same the next hundred years or so it's not costing them a thing but now all of a sudden they care about establishment stuff? The last decade or so they have literally had their supporters out there, pulling down statues, burning buildings, assaulting, cops, assaulting, conservatives, killing conservatives, not giving a rats ass over what they vandalized, but this all of a sudden puts them over the edge. A coordinated rebuild.

And I'm not talking about just average weirdos. I'm talking about it's become the push now with the congressional Democrats as well.

Literally losing their **** over it.

The only thing the irks me about this is I cannot bid on one of the discarded windows with Trumps signature on it.

Believe back in the day they auctioned off a bunch of item (or let people sort through them). Some guy wound up with a piece of one of the interior column molding.

I will try and locate the story. Sort of Antiques
roadshow-ish.

I'm curious how many of those Presidents used their own private funds to make the renovations. I would not be surprised if the number was zero.

Speaking of zero, I can almost guarantee he didn't pay for the basketball court (which was the closest he ever came to manual labor...laying a ton of bricks).

Yes, but they're still complaining. Trump, unlike Biden and most Democrats, can do about 37 things at one time. They're still trying to blame the shut down on him even though it's completely on Democrats. It's just all they have.

It is my understanding that no taxpayer money is being used for these renovations.

Seems the renovations are done through money donated by President Trump and other donors.

Regardless of who is POTUS, this is a smart idea as now POTUS will be able to host formal dinners, balls, galas, etc. on site at the WH. This is something all future POTUS will enjoy and use frequently.

Definitely an advantage to having events in an enclosed, secure space, instead of building tents on the lawn all the time. My only hangup is the renderings make it look out of proportion with the residence and West Wing. Being out of proportion was one of the reasons this never happened:

If you ever find yourself staying at the (formerly) Trump hotel in DC she really did a nice job and if you take the elevator up to the clock tower, they have a lot on her approach and design process. Her style is a bit more "muted" than Trumps sometimes garish decorations.

Of course, MSM is complaining that Trump put up sconces that are gold plated and not pure gold as Trump claimed. They say he got them from Temu. The press really cannot help themselves.
