He's obviously dropping out. Has cancelled ad buys and says he is reflecting on what is best.

The only thing that is non-obvious to some is that this was a hit from the left, not the GOP/conservatives. They waited for this moment to drop this penultimate strike such that he had to go so Mills doesn't have to campaign much and they can get Chuck's preferred nominee on the ballot in November.

In a sane world the leftists would be furious about this, much more so than so-called conservatives would be over Paxton v. Cornyn outcome, where at least the primary voters' decisions...elected the outcome. But that's not how Democrats work. Unironically, the Somali vote turnout could still decide this race (after they abandoned Mills for Platner, despite all she'd done for them).

The Maine Democratic/Socialist Party will hand pick a replacement and then call it 'democracy.' Just like the DNC did with Kamala.

Actually I am being a lot realistic on the Senate as you suggest and also as you suggest more pie in the sky on the house.

Think the economy is shaping up well for the midterms.

Back to Platner… Collins was never being usurped just like Talarico has not shot in Texas.

And Dems will not be able to move on fast enough from the disaster candidates because next up on their bench are even bigger disasters.

Communist democrats control the emotions and those candidates. Money though is with old school, power hungry, get rich, but not so communist part of the party.
They took out Bernie, will silence AOC and rest of squad if they push too hard.

We'll see. They are an emotional lot.

Maybe Mills will come out wearing a Hamas scarf or something to get street cred with Platner voters, or even announce her re-activation as a campaign from Maine's largest Mosque, and say something taken from some Mao speeches.

The Tea Party moderated somewhat quickly and he wild ones stayed marginalized for the most part.

The Dems have a much bigger problem. Their leadership failed to get any moderation and in an attempt to do so energized the radicals even more.

They have learned nothing since 2024 and instead have gone all in on Hate America Mental Patient mode.

Giddy up!

Another reminder. Collins was down in all the polls going into November 2020 and won by 8 points. She is so deeply entrenched in that state that I honestly don't think a so-so 78 year old governor will take her down.

Their party lacks any sensible leadership, I would agree. The folks who brought on Clinton in 1990-1992 (Ron Brown etc) would have puked at what is running the party today. It's a reflection of how Obama really decimated the party imho.

The remaining adults in the room though are largely octogenarians either (a) stage-5 TDS (Carville) or (b) ready to check out (Schumer/Pelosi). It's a vulnerable organization either way, and yet it has a dim shot at winning both houses, which is horribly frustrating.

The only intelligent people I can perceive today on their 'team' are Rahm Emanuel and Josh Shapiro, who are I guess 'too Jewish' to win or even compete for a nomination in 2028.

Only because their internal polls looks like *****

If they thought he would win, they would have ensured this was kept quiet. It is only coming out because the Democrats want him gone.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Much like Swalwell was torpedoed by the Dems, this guy was taken out by his own party. GOP wants this guy to run.

so I am assuming most believe this helps the communists take over the Senate because Mills will have a better chance to beat Collins than the Nazi?

on the other hand, the Nazi had all the money and energy and votes in the democrat primary so if he drops out maybe no money comes in to fund 90 year old Mills who no one cares about.

He was a fund raising bonus for the left in Maine. They wanted to get as much as possible. Not just for him, but for the DNC.

Mills was milquetoast and wouldn't have brought in so much money.

Now, they have a bigger bankroll to fight Collins.

Maybe, but Maine isn't the most expensive market in any case. I read they are going to trot out the Indian who lost the governor's primary (came in 2nd). Will just have to see.

Aside, I hope they put these two in charge of vetting/selecting many more leftist candidates.

In 1932, around 7000 German Jews liked Hitler's politics enough to vote for him. History tends to repeat itself.

I'm old enough to remember that Trump having a campaign event at MSG was compared to Hitler.

Now the DSA and their acolytes stage extravagant weddings for the elite and celebrate elite players and their elite members only fans for wild celebrations for bouncing a ball on wood.

If his replacement is going to lose anyway, why should he drop out? He might as well see if he can get more money from staying in the race longer, pragmatically.

This from from Scott Jennings. I didn't realize the previous accuser was conservative, That's why the NYT dismissed her story and didn't interview the females that corroborated her story.

Quote:

"[Graham Platner] was vetted. People knew all these things and a whole bunch of Democrats in Maine showed up and voted for him anyway. And a bunch of [people] from around the country sent him money anyway… What changed? Why are you bailing on Graham Platner now? You already signed off on Nazi tattoo, a self-described communist somebody who's had r*pe fantasies, somebody who has been on a social media platform known as a playground for pr*dators, and on, and on, and on, and on and on."

"The difference between this accuser and the previous one is simply this: she's a liberal. It's okay, I guess, for Democrats that their candidates assault conservatives. But he broke into someone's house. And apparently, according to her, r*ped her. And because her politics are correct, they can now believe it."

"All of this whole thing is disgusting, but to say that they hadn't vetted him, or that they didn't know about all this is totally false. They knew it and they signed up for it, and I don't know why they're backing away from this scumbag today when they had already signed off on all that other crazy behavior."

He would have to agree to turn over his accumulated coffers, so he has some leverage. Problem with loose cannons is they tend fo stag loose.

If we get to the end of today without him formally dropping out and the Dems settled on a replacement, then it could get even messier.

I'm quite sure Soros and others are backing up the money truck right now to his doorstep to get him to step aside.
