Yeah, the speech pattern has been around a long time now, but I didn't realize it had a name until I saw it on this board the past couple of days in a couple of different threads.

Anyone that talks like this automatically gets deducted 10 IQ points by me. It's incredibly annoying and ridiculous. Listened to a female author interviewed on NPR several years ago lambast this speech pattern as detrimental to women (it is) resulting in them essentially committing an own goal for their legitimacy in a professional setting.

Almost all the women in my company that are Managing Director and above speak like this when giving presentations. They don't in normal conversation but its almost like clockwork that they do in giving presentations. It must be something taught by their executive coaches or something??

Bernie ultimately got what he wanted though - his price for stepping aside in 2016 was that the Democrats adopt some of his far-left positions in their party plank. Since then, he's ultimately won the ideological battle in the Democrat party now that they are openly communist. There was an article in the WSJ a few weeks ago covering how he's now the king maker in that party.

If you want to make it in the Democrat party, you have to go through Bernie. He runs the show behind the scenes now.
