He's defeated liberals by this point and now the goal is to start normalizing the autocracy within his own camp. Just like the evangelicals so smitten with him they are ready to bow before a golden calf, he'll have the constitutional conservatives finding the best loophole since Garfunkel and Oates

Does it drive the progressives bonkers? Yes.

Is it useful other than that? No.

It's just a dumb charade to keep propping up.

Disagree. If it chews up liberal bandwidth and makes Democrats fret and worry, distracting them from their continued efforts to ruin this country, it is a very good thing indeed.

If Trump could do it, so could Obama.

And the way Trump is going, I think that Obama would likely win in a landslide.

So if you want a third term for Obama, keep going.

Who in the hell is going to vote for Obama? The debacle with the ACA is enough to keep him from ever sniffing the White House, and then only if he is reincarnated as JD Vances schnoodle.

Trump 2.0 is going to poorly that he's ended 8 wars, has the stock market at all time highs WHILST collecting tariffs and driving hard nose trade deals. I mean I really hate that we have trillions of dollars pouring in and much of our aid is in the forms of things that pay us back, like the currency swaps with Argentina and looks like South Korea. Border closed and 2 million and counting deported. Safe streets in DC and coming to more and more blue cesspools.

But yea, the Great Husseini is going to come in and do what? Drone strike Americans? Start race wars? Play hoops in the ballroom? Give pallets of cash for Iran's nuclear program? Or we he get back to work on diluting healthcare for Americans while they pay more and more then call for government handouts because the AFFORDABLE Care Act is anything but.

Too funny. Thanks for trying though.

From https://www.politico.com/news/2025/02/11/barack-obama-joe-biden-favorability-00203578

Quote:

The results of a Gallup survey conducted the week following President Donald Trump's inauguration found Obama ranked highest in favorability with 59 percent and Biden lowest with 39 percent. Trump is tied for second lowest with Bill Clinton at 48 percent, and George W. Bush ranked second with 52 percent.

...

Opinions of Obama have remained steady since leaving office, with Bush's favorability decreasing slightly.

That's silly.

The 22nd amendment was passed to limit the number of terms that future Presidents could serve. That Roosevelt served his three and a fraction terms does not mean that Trump can serve more than two terms.

You do know, don't you, that the Constitution can be amended and that it has been amended a number of times.
Quote:

Section 1
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Section 2
This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

No, the reason why Canada didn't elect PP is because they voted against their own interests and now they are stuck with a PM that is telling to suck it up….if Canadians are using an American President and his words to not vote in their best interests, then that is on them and not Trump.

Recent polls show Trump has made inroads with Black male voters. Obama, the first Black president, said he wanted to "speak some truths" about that.

"My understanding, based on reports I'm getting from campaigns and communities, is that we have not yet seen the same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters of our neighborhoods and communities as we saw when I was running," he said.

That lack of enthusiasm for Harris, he said, "seems to be more pronounced with the brothers."

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. If Trump remains popular to the point that in 3 years he would have enough support to win an election at 84, then logic follows that whomever he endorses to continue his legacy would be just a popular, supported.

I think it's probably we get a Trump "3rd term" and possibly a 4th and maybe 5th, but it will be with his chosen successor(s).

I don't think it works that way.

He can endorse a candidate, but it would still be up to the candidate to win the election. No endorsement is going to give him a free ride. It might sway some voters and it could even have an impact, but it would still depend on the candidate.

Who plotted to subvert the Constitution?

Though Trump is wrong about being able to serve as VP, what he intended to layout is a LAWFUL, CONSTITUTIONAL way to serve a third term.

Again, loopholes by their very definition are legal.
