That feature is mandated by the EPA-expense for no benefit. My 22 Bronco has button to deactivate the motor shutdown, but there is an aftermarket part that can be installed to permanently disable it which is what I am going to do.

Prediction: U.S. will lag and then will reach majority electric mileage on roads faster than any other country outside of China.
This is such a loaded prediction. Come on, man.
Of course we will. No other country has the driving culture that we do. We will win this by default and is not a fair metric.
Europe and China drive half as much as an American driver. They abandoned EV subsidies before the US. California bought them because they both drive a decent amount and have the money to. EV prices in China are now comparable to ICE vehicles and represents 33% of the market.ChemEng94 said:
Most of this "growth" is not because of more acceptance, but rather more government interference. Electric cars were being forced down the consumers throats in Europe, Asia, and places like California in the good old USA.
Yup. It will be multiple decades before any country reaches >50% EV mileage, more than enough time to build out electric capacity. I'd we're worried about energy generation in 2035 we're a truly stupid country and Erik be showing Chinese.aggiehawg said:hph6203 said:

Nope. Nearly all electric generation will be sapped for AI. That's the better, more lucrative money play. Capital follows the safer, more lucrative path. Because I am old and have seen this crap before, am reminded of the dotcom boom that was not based on earnings, even performance. AI is in that stage, in my view. But capital will chase it anyway.
For a different reason, capital is fleeing California, now NYC and New Jersey.

Which EV will be next? This vehicle was a non-starter from the get-go. IIRC, its mileage capability dropped to less than 100 miles on a full charge if it was pulling any kind of load.
The Dodge Recharger

Soon you will be able to get a Charger with a proper Hemi V-8. And for a cool quarter million, with production limited to 50.

Though truthfully, the Hurricane inline-6 versions will be available in 420 or 550 hp.

Is is acceptable to hang "truck nuts" on an F-150 Lightning? Or a CyberTruck?

The vast majority of 1/2 ton truck owners never or rarely tow anything. I've only owned a truck for the past 32 years and I've only done a U Haul trailer a handful of times. Next truck will likely be electric or the Ram hybrid since i use my truck as an office so much and being able to run AC without idling an ICE is appealing.

Ford's entire electric program has been a colossal waste.
From what I'm told, the Mustang Mach E is actually a decent car, but Ford had to price it so low to sell, they it lost money on every car. Not to mention the abomination of calling it a Mustang.

Bro, I feel the same way about my $60,000 Jeep Wrangler that's been my daily driver for the past 5 years. How does a freaking Jeep cost that much?AgBQ-00 said:
a decently equipped GT is over 50K. It is ridiculous they took the "everyman" muscle car and made it so expensive it is out of reach for so many who would be in the market for one.

What's always cracked me up on Mustangs is that you can get a vanilla entry level one and then spend 2x as much on an optioned up GT.

I drive a Ford truck, specifically because that was about the only V-8 that I could find.
I do however, want to find the person responsible for the engine shutting off every time I pull up to a stop sign…
And kick the **** out of him.

Hybrids just make a ton more sense for a truck than an EV. Huge amounts of torque available, a powerful worksite generator with you at all times, long range when towing, and decent mileage.
