Almost certainly, but I am old enough that by the time it does it won't affect me. I worry about my wife, whose life expectancy is a good 10+ years longer than mine.

The best/worst trait of Trump is his willingness for direct action.

Unfortunately, the next time Dems are in power this will make them much more willing to make open changes, as opposed to hiding them in the dark. And justify these, which will utterly transform our society, by --- "Well Trump did it."

To AfD, if they are not banned before the big German election cycle next, could take power, but again Merz really wants to legally ban them, as a threat for such thoughts.

If we pulled out of NATO, that long way down would speed up in a hurry once they have to start spending a lot more on their militaries. That money has to come from somewhere. I was in Belgium last month. It will be among the next of nations to fall. They are getting over-run with immigrants - you now, the "doctors and scientists" that you hear so much about. The smaller towns were not as affected as the big cities - but the cultural impact was quote noticeable.

This is what led to Trump (all 3 times, stolen once) in the US, but I don't know if opposition will be allowed to run in actual elections in Europe.
