This has already been debunked. He was residing with known illegal immigrants. He even matched the description of one of the illegals. He refused to identify himself so he was detained until his identity was proven. He was never arrested. It even says so in the article you linked.

For the love of god will people learn the difference between being detained and being arrested.

I thought that might have been what happened from the earlier videos.

The accidental discharge led to the other officers firing. The officers at that point have no way of knowing where it's coming from and fire.

Tragic yes. Execution no. Avoidable yes.

He didn't have to go to the protest, didn't have to get in the street with the women (that part is left out of the attached video), could have just gone limp when they took him down instead of resisting, didn't have to bring his gun to a protest, he didn't have to leave a bullet in the chamber, and he could have had a gun with a safety.

So he could have made six different choices and he might be alive.

Instead you say it's on the law enforcement to know an idiot might bring a gun to the protest, and his gun might get accidentally discharged after he resisted and they should wait for a second shot because they should know it wasn't him. Got it.

Interesting question for the SIG guys. Doesn't this model SIG have a safety? If so, why was it off?

Being in front of an accelerating vehicle is a solid definition of danger. Furthermore, all that cop knows is that there is an unstable individual who was willing to risk his safety to evade arrest... what else is she willing to do. At best, she is behind the wheel, unstable, attempting to flee at a high rate of speed, and on icey roads. Clearly she presents no other threats to anyone else in the area.....

eta: not only his safety but the other officer and her own partner who was trying to get into the vehicle as tried to drive off.
