If you get hit by a vehicle, yes that is deadly force. But by the time he shoots the car has to be past him, right? If the car is driving away isn't the danger gone? Or does the officer have to assume that she she's going to throw it in reverse and make another run at him?

Regardless, this woman went looking for trouble and she found it. FAFO. The real criminals are the government officials that have allowed their populace to feel emboldened enough act like this.

The bullet hole is straight thru the windshield. The car wasn't past him when he shot her.

The officer has a duty to protect himself, other officers and citizens. A car coming at him is reason enough for himself to shoot her even if he didn't get a scratch. His fellow officer was reaching in the window and near the car as well and the shooting officer could have deemed him in danger. All of this happening in seconds.

The ridiculous second guessing that he could have dodged the car, stepped out of the way or not being truly in danger are Monday morning qbing born out of cop hate or Trump hate.

The most telling thing about all of this is that after hours of reviewing the footage from different angles and even watching at slo-mo, and all the talking heads adding their own twists and inferences from their comfortable chairs, none of them dare to admit the officer had a split second to make a decision.

Of course, that's because they aren't really upset about the shooting. They are salivating at the opportunity to turn more of the public against Trump and sensible immigration enforcement.

While there are plenty of brain dead sheeple in this nation who can be persuaded to abandon logic, the mainstream media no longer has a lock-down on the narrative. And, I believe most Americans are still in favor of enforcing immigration law. I believe most Americans loathe the leftist ideologues who create chaos and mock orderly society. They can see what is happening, and I think they are rejecting it, silently in most cases, but nonetheless resolute. There are still hellholes like Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle and Philadelphia, but the miserable wretches who inhabit these dens are increasingly seen as isolated radicals.

Would you like to test your hypothesis? I am sure anyone on here would volunteer to be the driver if you are willing to be in the same position of the Leo but you cannot have a gun. Let's see how fast you can move and see how much damage you take. Willing to back up your position? If you survive with no injuries, I'll give you $100k

Did the shooter get injured here? If not, seems like your hypothesis is already off. Maybe he did, I haven't heard. Looked fine at the end when he holstered his pew pew .

Why does that matter?

Because this hypothetical experiment was literally tested in this very case and the cop was fine. So his hypothesis is already shot. Shooting the broad didn't save his life, he got out of the way and then shot her.

The law seems to indicate a very good shot here.

I'm not finding that language in the code referenced:

I'm not taking a side either way on Minnesota code here and the incident, just that I don't think the above tweet is all that accurate.

Getting hit by a car going 5mph when you are standing on ice is very dangerous.

Remember that Dr. Adkins died slipping on an icy sidewalk, hitting his head.

Fleeing from a police officer on icy streets is pretty reckless. I would say that you are creating a situation where it is likely that you could hurt other people, especially the officer standing right in front of your car.

Why not just follow the instructions and don't interfere? That's what most people do.

Thus why most people don't get shot.

You know, she didn't have to follow instructions. She just needed to put her stinking car in Park and quit moving.

Not following instructions might get her roughed up.

Driving a 3000 pound weapon at officers will get you killed.

If anything good can come from this woman's miserable life, let is serve as a lesson to her comrades about what can happen when you cross law enforcment and break the law.

As pointless as it was, this woman made a bad choice and reaped the consequences. It is 100% her fault.

When it comes to criminals and violent felons who perpetrate some real wickedness against people, do you know what the left does?

They exhaust themselves bending over backwards searching for explanations of their behavior. The reason why they did what they did. The root cause.

I once sat at a board hearing with a rapist and a board member herself, who was no mental health expert (as if that would make her own behavior any less absurd) went on length making the 20 year old felons heinous crime because of his mother. He needed more time in therapy talking about his relationship with his effing mom!

But when it comes to a law enforcement officer who has to make a split decision as a woman accelerates her car towards him - no explanation there - murder.

I highly doubt it. These 2 drove 5 hours to aggravate and interfere with LEO investigations multiple times on that same day. They could of stayed home and raised their kids to be productive members of society, or started a business and became rich and employed other people and made their lives beter. They could have became politicians and tried to affect change that way. But they chose stupid to get social media likes and loves..They don't seem like the type who would regret their dumb decision and accept the blame, but I bet the wife is trying to lay plenty of blame on the LEOs ..

In my opinion, I don't think she was trying to run him down after looking at all the videos extant. She panicked when she realized being smug and abusive to the LEOs was not turning out the way she thought it would, decided to flee at the urging of her bull-dyke partner, and paid the consequences.

Ultimately, whether she intended to run the LEO over or was just trying to flee the scene is immaterial. Had she simply complied with the order to get out of the car or done nothing, she would still be alive, but instead she rolled the dice and assumed room temperature. I always cringe when I hear the phrase "good shoot", so I will say what the LEO did was fully justified.

It is none-too-bright useful idiots like her that get validation for their meaningless lives from complete strangers liking a post that provide the cannon fodder for the people bankrolling these protests. What I can't figure out is how to fix stupid.

Generally, I agree, but not in this case. She was being lawfully stopped and tried to flee in a vehicle while surrounded by law enforcement, with no regard for anyone around her. Maybe she wasn't trying to hit him, but she wasn't trying to avoid him either. That's why she hit him in the first place.

She traveled a long way to **** around, and she found out.

Another thought - if someone is killed when you're committing a crime don't you get charged with that death? Was the girlfriend committing a crime by yelling at her to drive?

That gets into a tricky analysis. Was the wife telling her to go home? Was she telling her to ram the officer? Was she telling her to evade arrest or escape? And would that be under state law? Doubtful there would be federal jurisdiction based upon a state statute, as generally speaking, state courts and federal courts have separate lanes, with the exception of when a crime under state law occurs on federal property. Not applicable here.

We can safely assume the wife will not be charged under state law, hell they'll probably give her a medal.

So as things stand now with what we know, the wife may have some minor charges but noting major, IMO.

Well, *****, because they're police officers and they carry those things.

Wouldn't be surprised if they did. I am old enough to remember the campus unrest of the late 60s. In 1970, Kent State kind of put the kibosh on those. "Wait! They will fire at us just for burning buildings down?"

Yeah, I've pretty much come around. I'd like to think I wouldn't shoot her because

1) It seems very clear she was just trying to get away and
2) I'd hope I would be more concerned about getting out of the way than finding my sidearm

End of the day I can't fault this dude for making an unfortunate choice in a split second and I chalk it up to exactly the same as Ashli Babbit - you were stupid and you died for it. Shrug.

1) Its clear you CANT KNOW what her intent was. Maybe it was too flee and take out the officer at the same time, its just as valid.
2) You clearly don't understand how dangerous cars are to officers and civilians. Hundreds of police cams proves this.

His choice was not unfortunate, hers was.

Ashli Babbit was threating officers with a deadly weapon? Please update us on this new information you have. L take.

Clear to me by their words and actions in this video and others that show her dancing in her seat to her own car horn moments earlier that they thought this was all some game, entertainment for them. Guess she found out the hard way that LARPing aint a great idea as blood poured out of her head.
