It's just more bad Trump. Very dumb.

He's leaving in May and Trump can announce his replacement any day.

I don't agree with pushing rates lower with GDP ~3%, inflation ~3%, and unemployment ~4.5% and interest rates at historical norms. Doesn't make sense.

That said, he sees it differently and can put his own guy in shortly. This runs a real risk of the bond market demanding HIGHER rates for the 10 year note and beyond, which will just keep mortgage rates at current levels or higher.

You're going to criminally indict the Fed Chair five months before his term ends? On questionable grounds?

Just so dumb... no need for it.

A US Federal judge agreed and threw out the subpoenas.

I support Trump on a lot of things, including the current Iran war, but this one was a misfire.

A federal judge on Friday threw out two subpoenas the Justice Department issued to the Federal Reserve, all but branding the criminal probe invalid and handing a significant victory to the Fed and its embattled Chair Jerome Powell.

The Fed isn't funded from taxpayers. They get their fees from banks and other financial institutions. Those entities are involved in selecting Fed governors and leaders.

Also, the president could fire the Fed chair for cause, but it's been very clear to even a blind man there is no cause that would withstand scrutiny in court. That's why the judge threw it out.

All this to try and force a man to lower interest rates when there is no compelling reason to do that. If anything, rates are headed up with ongoing inflationary pressures.

Don't forget Powell lowered interest rates to help Harris get elected no reason to do so otherwise at the time. totally fair and impartial.

Luckily, those banks and other financial institutions create their own money to pay those fees/expenses....

You forgot to mention the judge in the ruling. It is the infamous Judge James Boasberg who seems to get every Trump related case. Boasberg previously blocked the Trump administration from deporting Tren de Aragua gang members among other rulings. His wife is a Democrat donor and his daughter is at not for profit that receives half of its funding from the government and has used that to fight things like the Laken Riley Act. Everything he does is highly conflicted and most often challenged.

Articles of impeachment have been filed by lawmakers against him, primarily for his alleged abuse of judicial authority during the FBI's Arctic Frost investigation, which targeted conservative members of Congress.

We need a president that will go to war with the Fed. If you're against that, you're simply one of the NPCs
