Rest in peace, Scott.

He will be missed, but also, that is maybe the worst "conversion" testimony I have ever heard.
Newsflash: It's not up to you to decide.

I would agree, and I'd also agree with the comment that it's for God to decide. This idea that we can slip it in at the last second a belief in Christ is lost on me. The person who does what he wants, when he wants, unencumbered by a belief in Christ and can be completely absolved as he professes a belief in Christ all while explaining he's hedging his bets right as he passes...is lost on me, but alas, it's not for us to decide.
Not familiar with anything about him other than his comic strip. Regardless, he passed way too soon. Sad.

I understand what you're saying about coming to Christ at the last second after living a sinful life just seems unfair. However, I would encourage you to read Matthew 20:1-16 the parable of the a workers in the vineyard.
Thankfully God shows us grace & mercy.

You have never heard of Constantine the Great?
Yeah the old deathbed baptism! I imagine a halo'd umpire calling SAFE! while Satan comes out of the dugout to spit at his feet and belly bump him.

Scott Adams could have kept his mouth shut in 2015, kept those lavish corporate speaking gigs where he'd earn 50-100K per talk, and have died with an extra zero or two in his bank account. Instead he chose courage and died surrounded by the love of tens-of-millions.

This was his final written statement. It's not up to me to decide, but I'm not encouraged by his statement with regards to salvation. I hope to see him in heaven someday, though.

You're right, it's not up to you to decide, so why even comment? This is one of my major issues with so many Christians - the "I know the true way to salvation" crowd is really a turn-off.
How about, here's to a life well lived Mr. Adams. RIP. End of comment.
Is it really that hard?

Never said it was, but as someone who believes salvation is relationship based, not transactional, it just sounds like purchasing fire insurance. I am not an expert on either his own soul nor am I the Ultimate Judge, so take it as just a cringing smile of a post.
Other than that, I loved his work and he said a lot of things that needed to be said. The world needed his perspective.

I was just about to post this. Has anybody ever read any of his books he mentions in this farewell statement?
RIP.

Well, Jesus left no mystery when He said "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father except by Me." That said, only Mr. Adams and God know how it turned out for him.
