There's really not one single reason anyone should have among Christians to doubt that Adam's is with the Lord.

We can split hairs and squabble over how many angels can dance in the head of a pin and revel in our own understanding (which is nil) and argue and posture if we want to.

If Adams was a Christian for 1 second, then I believe the savior is enough to save all men because of what he said and who he was.

I won't judge Adams' condition.

I will only look forward to laughing with him in heaven while we're drinking coffee and wondering why we ever even tried to stay down there when the coffee is so good upstairs!

Scott kept creating the Dilbert cartoons and self-publishing after he was dropped by the newspapers and has had a ton of hilarious toons regarding DEI, A.I. and other trends the past few years. This was in my daily Dilbert calender yesterday.

Thanks for the laughs and thoughts, Mr. Adams.

Well said. It is definitely not our place to judge.

Adams' salvation is between him and God, and no one else.

I hope he was sincere because that is all that matters.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Can someone explain to me the "racist comments" that lead to his "disgrace".

My assumption is that he is guilty of telling the truth

Notice when Mark Cuban said whenever he sees a black guy in a hoodie walking towards him on the same sidewalk at night he will intentionally cross the street.

But like the ***** that he is, he apologized, and then adopted the proper groupthink.

Another great conservative voice is gone. So grateful he found Jesus at the end. That makes this a happy ending.

The ultimate reality is everyone is racist to some degree. It is part of being a human being. We also have other kinds of discriminatory behaviors as well. Based on wealth, religion, skin tone, education etc. It is actually normal and has roots in history.

Now if Adams wants to stay away from Blacks or any other groups, why is it wrong? He can do as he pleases for himself.

I don't vote for Muslims. That is my policy. About 10 years ago, I had a Muslim friend in my neighborhood who ran to be mayor of my town. His reason? Need more diversity in City Hall, and he wanted to celebrate holidays like Ramadan, Diwali, and other Jewish holidays officially rather than just Christmas. Really? He was a friend so I did vote for him but I realized how dumb that was. Never again. A vote for a Muslim is a vote for more Islam.

So if Scott had his reasons, then good for him. We all learn from our experiences. The ones who judge him are virtue signaling.

sad news

the shooting on the METRO bus in Houston last week perfectly illustrated Scott's point

have to limit your interaction or exposure to those people -- they will harm you

I don't think most people care about race at all. They care about differences in values. It's not irrational to be wary of a group of people who represent a threat to your way of life. Sometimes this is unfair to individuals in that group who may not embrace those threatening values, but until you know them better, it is reasonable to assume they may.

. He says he isn't a believer but the risk reward is attractive so he makes the statement accepting Jesus. If he wakes up in heaven he will believe then. Not sure that will cut it.

His conversion may have been a cynical one, as you choose to think

My guess is that he's an engineer, not used to sharing feelings, and this is simply him trying to lighten his statement

If a black lerson said he avoids whites because of slavery 160 years ago or the KKK 60 years ago, the left would celebrate "their truth "

It wasn't a real conversion, I don't know why some here are celebrating.

As you say, it was a cynical one. Which is okay, it is his choice. Forcing someone to say something or do something in a vulnerable moment doesn't mean much. Folks are just clutching at straws to claim something that did not happen.

Couple of consolations first:
-He at least honed in on that the decision is between atheism and Christianity. To him, it was obvious that other religions were false based upon their fruits and claims. Not exactly a doctrinal approach but in my mind he did something good rejecting those religions and worldviews.
-That letter is at least a week old. With each passing day he could've finally broke through and fully committed to Christ. This is the left hand of God at work.
-He was blessed with time to think about his own mortality for a good while. He wasn't taken in the middle of the night with no time to reflect.
-God delights in no man perishing but that they would turn back and repent. As long as you are on this earth you can repent of your sins and be forgiven.

Now for the hard stuff:
-That confession, as its written, doesn't really reflect the penitence of the thief on the cross. The thief recognized that A) Christ was the messiah and B) admitted to and asked for forgiveness of his sins. The heart of the thief understood what was playing out at hand. That letter doesn't really sound like much contrition.
-Lord have mercy on Scott Adams and his family. May he be in paradise with Jesus. Those claiming he is a Christian based solely on that letter are drawing an extremely large circle around Christianity and salvation. At its core, these discussions are exercises in religious minimalism, which is to say how tightly can I still cling to the ways of the world and its sins and yet still cling to God.

OK. Gotcha.

Here is his statement again.

He clearly says "I am not a believer" at the beginning. Then he makes a business decision "risk reward calculation" which means if God exists, he does not want to piss Him off, and he will find out soon.

This clearly shows that he did not "become a Christian" which would require one to surrender oneself truthfully to Christ, not make business deals or try to conduct transactions.

The next line about him "accepting" contradicts his earlier statement and is more like a "I am dying anyway, let's see if this really works" deal.

Sorry, but this is the reality of it.

I'm not who gets to determine where his heart was but he literally said "I'm not a believer." Then he said I will be if I wake up in heaven. Can't put God to the test.

I am told that Adams had friends at Motorola Inc. who would tell him about their processes. He would write a lot of jokes about Motorola without naming them. Only insiders knew it was Motorola.
