Here are the facts of the case. In some ways, they're really quite simple.
The original tweet, including verbiage in the tweet was about the Dominion voting scandal and included a one minute and two second video.
The last three seconds of the video was the repulsive thing with the Obama's. And apparently that came from a longer video that showed many politicians in animal form, but that's not what the one he shared had, only the parts with the Obamas. Someone clearly put it on there. The question is who. This did not originate with the White House.
There's even about a half second of darkness at the end of the Dominion part before that starts. No logical person would've ever thought that Obama part would be there. And if they didn't watch it to the end, they wouldn't have seen it.
I foolishly joined a discussion yesterday that had already taken the narrative of how evil and horrible and racist Trump was. I know, my bad, I should not have done it. But when explained the facts of this specific share from Trump, of course that was not met well. And one person who is normally a very rational person, literally said this when I explained what had happened. "I don't give a rats ass about any of that. No politician should've ever sent that out." So the facts didn't matter. If you're not willing to look at the entire situation, you don't have an honest assessment of it. Just the narrative you choose to push.
So here's the problems. First, yes, and tweet and video about the 2020 Dominion computer scandal is something a politician, especially the one who was screwed over by it should share. That was then met with well sharing that to begin with was ridiculous because no cheating happened but that's a different road.
Second, the people that hate Trump and want to have a racist narrative don't care about the facts of how the video came to be shared on Trumps Truth Social, and they don't want to know. They just want to be mad. If that's the road they're taking there's nothing that can be said to convince them otherwise.
When I suggested that people actually watch the video in question, there were all sorts of excuses why they couldn't for most of them and they didn't want to because basically, they didn't want to see what actually happened. OK again if you're not willing to see what happened your narrative Isn't properly supported.
I have in the past put a few things on this site that I did not vet properly and I got egg on my face for it and I should have. I've always apologized and or deleted it and said I was wrong. And if someone who worked in the communications field for my entire career from everything, designing to writing to sending out social media information, etc, I can assure you it is much easier to make a mistake like that than people think especially with an illogical addition to a video.
One part of this is anything that is forwarded by the White House or Trump on Twitter or TruthSocial or wherever it's coming from must be vetted completely to the end. and again, as someone who has lived a few mistakes myself in my career, none that bad though, it certainly makes you not want to do it again if it's in your control. I have no idea how many people work in the White House or TruthSocial Communication departments.
And yes, Trump is very savvy with this stuff for the most part. He should look at it himself, but when you rely on your underlings to do it, that's part Of the situation as well. Ultimately, if it comes out from "him', he is responsible, no matter who did it. I've learned that hard lesson myself as well. But every politician, especially the president's office has their in terms that do this part of it. How many weird ass things did we see come out of the Biden administration. Just completely illogical information.
So that's it. This is what this particular incident was about, but those that want to keep being offended about it will and those who are past it and moving on will also. Can't we just all get along. Apparently not.
Asking who the "worst" posters are on TexAgs is like asking which jalapeño at a tailgate is the hottest, it depends entirely on who you ask and how much "maroon-tinted" Kool-Aid you've had that day.
