The time is over to call Iran names and tell reporters we can dispatch them in part of an afternoon. This is becoming like the boy that cried wolf. It's time for Trump to finish this in a way that's a clear win for the US. I played golf this morning with a group of retired, hard right leaning guys and listening to the discussion even this demographic is tiring of Trump.

Iran is playing for complete US capitulation here. It's a dangerous gamble by their hardliners, but they think Trump is likely to wash his hands of the whole deal. We need a strategy that empowers the moderates (who probably aren't moderates in any sense other than they would prefer to stay alive and get rich instead of going boom)

We gave the moderates a prime opportunity to take power and they refused to take the reigns. Hell they could have coordinated with the US military and clean up all the IRGC but they squandered it. Seems complicit at this point.

Furthermore, did we just launch a massive attack on them with more to come.

Still as I said before. The MOU ceasefire accomplished quite a bit.

We have lost the ability to be patient, We expect immediate victory.

We walk into Venezuela and grab Maduro and we think we can do that any where at any time.

They have no clue about the geo politics of region.

They are getting 'Goebbeled' And that concerns me more than the left.

Ehh Trump is running his course as almost all Presidents do/would after 10+ years in the spotlight. Nothing really surprising there. Everything/one has a shelf life.

Trump will blow up a few strategic Iran assets and come home. He has stated numerous times SOH is not a need for the USA. Why isn't Europe and Asia helping since the SOH is a lifeline, boggles my mind!

Forgive my ignorance, but is that an IRGC stronghold? Are these significant strikes or just pin *****s around the edges?

It's their biggest port city. Big naval presence there.

We have destroyed all of their big naval vessels but they still operate a ton of small boats that they can pull out of underground storage and dump quickly into the water.

Obviously they are not going to publicly say exactly what was targeted but my guess is something to do with their ability to put fast boats in the water or command and control.

I'm sure we'll have a two-week ceasefire any minute now so we can negotiate a peace deal. #winning

Probably announce a two-week ceasefire that will last less than two days. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Another that has no clue about what is going on here or what this really all about! Geez.

Why can you not understand that all this cease fire talk was really about.

1. It has created great unrest in the regime. There are hardliners, true Jihadist and then there are those who don't want to die and get targeted by Israel who are trying to have some sort of deal.

Their foreign minister just had rocks thrown at him yesterday for even seeking to talk with the US.

The funeral emotions are running hire for the hardliners.

2. The MOU was done at the request of Qatar and Pakistan and the Arab neighbors! It gave them time to improve their defenses. It created a window to get all the stuck shipping out of the Gulf.

3. The whole world, and especially the moderate Islamic Sunnis, now know that it is Iran;s jihadist regime that are the real bad guys here. There is no talk about the US being bullies in this game any more. This HAD TO HAPPEN. Iran claiming authority of International waters outside their 12 mile jurisdiction is insane. They are now nothing more than a band of pirates.

4. The truth is known across the world, about Iran and it]s Jihadist proxies. They are the evil ones here. Most of the US is now being woken up about the truth of Islam and it's truly evil foundations and Iran is just cementing that in. Attacking other Islamic countries including Qatar.

Without this cease fire, MOU none of these things becomes known.

There are other benefits.

The Arab coalition now will see that they need the US navy to protect their ships and now Trump is going to ask for compensation for doing such things. And we will get it.

Iranian frozen funds will start being tapped.

Oil prices are going to be held in check, wait and see.

I think this part is wishful thinking. I have no doubt there is a large component of the citizenry that will say that the only reason Iran has attacked anybody is because Trump attacked them first (and throw in 'because Bibi told him to' for good measure). Trump and evil right-wing America HAS to be blamed.

I will agree that the trend is going in the right direction though.
The best way to keep evil men from wielding great power is to not create great power in the first place.

Are all those little pops secondary cookoffs, some kind of AA fire, or maybe just echoes of the initial blasts off of various buildings?

I support him but I am also getting tired of Trump and his rhetoric. My concern is that at some point he may just give up and say that Iran is a regional problem that needs to be handled by the middle east countries. He may claim that he decimated their military and so now they can go in and clean up. That would be horrible. It would embolden Iran and all other adversaries.

I truly believe that he loves the USA and the people. I am convinced of that. But the one thing that DJT loves more than the USA is DJT. I think he will do whatever to protect his legacy. He is really in a bad situation with Iran and I do not see this ending well for him.

You know, I've mentioned this before.

The IRGC is an army.

Armies have soldiers. They congregate on these things called bases.

We know where those bases are.

Remind me again why we are not flattening those bases with a MOAB??

The only aircraft that can deploy a MOAB is the MC-130, which isn't the most survivable aircraft given the Iranians still have anti-aircraft weapons, especially MANPADs.. If we could adapt it to the B-2, then we could bust some IRGC heads with it.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Or we can drop a bunch of CBU-89 cluster bombs

Quote:

Air Force CBU-89/B

The Air Force CBU-89/B is a 450-kilogram (1,000 lb) cluster munition containing 72 antitank and 22 antipersonnel mines, consists of an SUU-64 Tactical Munitions Dispenser with an optional FZU-39 proximity sensor. The TMD is the same general configuration used for the CBU-87/B Combined Effects Munition. This commonality allows for high-rate, low-cost production of the dispenser.
When the CBU-89 is used in conjunction with the Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser guidance tail kit, it became a precision-guided munition designated as CBU-104.[4]

Maybe it makes sense but that includes the very large IF

It makes sense
IF the US can reopen the straits using bombs if The US does not have the ability to reopen the SoH by bombing Iranian assets then
It's a bad idea and the US has to get back to the table because The US can't achieve their goals militarily then The US has to try and achieve something at the negotiation table

Start flattening electrical generation, water plants, any and all communication infrastructure. Food and roads go next.

Light a fire under the gen pop that now is the time, die fighting the IRGC or rollover and die.

Serious question on our super helpful European allies. I get that they basically have no Navy so obviously are worthless in that regard. However, do they not have their own missiles systems, jets, attack helicopters, etc that could be deployed to the ME for use in at least protecting the strait if not putting warheads on foreheads?

OK? They have sworn to death for the cause. I doubt a broken bridge will impede their path. Would be nice for the rest of the world if they could respawn on their own without our help.
