Maybe that's why I remember mine. I took the SAT twice. The second time I scored 10 points higher than the first.

I actually took it 3 times. The first was in junior high for some program Duke was running. Guess that score was forgettable. Never took the ACT because UT didn't require it.

So Biden has a stutter and Gavin has dyslexia. That's why they appear to be stupid.

Dems are just evil liars.

Well, they only have it when they need an excuse for some dumb, racist thing they have said.

What we took junior year was the PSAT. On that basis I was National Honor Society.

How high you scored on the SAT made one a National Merit Scholar. I missed by a few points on that one. Still received many scholarship offers. A&M was like "Okay you can come if you want. No money from us."

Now close your eyes and imagine if that poor little silver haired dyslexic boy, was instead a fat bloviating Orangeman with thin crepe skin.

Trump would never be allowed grace or context. And for that, Gavin Newsom must repent of his racist ways, denounce the Klan, commit to fully funding reparations.

We need to treat all candidates for POTUS and actual POTUS the same, right?

PSAT is the NMS qualifier, not the SAT. SAT only factors in that you need a confirming score to show the PSAT was not a fluke.

I remember on the math I missed one. My score was like 780 or something.

Then there were those ****ing analogies. __ is to __ as __ is to __. This country bumpkin usually knew 2 of the 4 words. My score was around 400, if that, on that part.

There is a reason I'm an engineer.

Preach. I bombed the English portion also.

I was recognized as part of the Duke Talent Search for scoring a 500 on the math in 7th grade. I don't remember the verbal score, but I think it was the same as if you just wrote your name on the test. Apparently reading the sports section every morning was not adequate preparation.

Isn't that a 1060?

How so?

AH, after hearing Shawn Hannity talk about his "X" back and forth with Gavin Newsome about what GN said and a satirical take on Michael Berry show, I went to YouTube to review and laugh at another cringe worthy GN moment. But when I saw the moment he talked about scoring 960 it really was a cringe worthy moment ……especially know he was talking to a black audience. He was comparing his result to others in the room. I came away with that he had made a colorless commit.

I would have rather focused on GH over playing his dyslexia and how sad his life with his dyslexia challenges. I doubt his claim and can condemn him for asking for sympathy.

I am trying to be concise. Had a procedure on my bladder and the Vicodin is kicking in.

These are the kinds of things I love showing my kids. They have to do a bit of public speaking, networking with peers. I understand exactly what he meant and his intent. It was very clear to me. But the words he used to convey it will not make that intent clear to most. Words matter. Phrasing matters. Preparation matters. Knowing your target audience definitely matters. Before any of us send a business or important email, there is at least two sets of eyes on it so that it doesn't come across as Mr. Newsom's bobbled commentary. Just assume everyone receiving your message has the IQ of an eggplant and you'll be much better off.

Reading the posts on this thread and how people "took" the commentary is proof that not everyone is smart enough to glean your point when you garble the message.

Full X Post:

Gavin Newsom while speaking to African Americans, on his "severe dyslexia": "I don't read very fast… I cannot read a speech."

Also, Gavin, while talking to whites on the 326-page book *Fight* by Allen & Parnes: "I devoured it in a quick hour and a half, almost two hours."

Bro… the audiobook is 11 hours long, but he finished it in 2 hours.

He either just set the world record for speed-reading while dyslexic, or he's a pathological liar who thinks we're all idiots.

I'll let you decide which is more believable.

It was clear what he meant. He thinks black people are stupid and gullible. He thinks they will believe him to be understanding of "their plight," as if black people today have a common life experience.

Newsom's intentions are not noble, and he isn't "looking out for black people." He just wants them to think he is. One just needs to look at how California is worse for everyone but "The Party" since he took over.

He's arrogant and stupid and merely pandering for votes from people he has no respect for.

Larry Elder still mad about not being Cali Governor, hits Newsom on the nose.

BTW - the reading the book quickly clip may be what puts too big a hole in Gavin's ship.

You can run these clips nonstop and many others of him demeaning and contradicting and flat out lying. Complete fabrication of a person.

Please explain to me like I'm a black man in his audience what he meant.

It's pretty clear to me what he was doing was to try and create an emotional link with your audience by trying to find common ground. Very standard speaking technique.

In his mind the common ground that clicked in his racist mind is black audience = lower IQ, so he went with hey I'm stupid and struggle with reading just like all of you.

But what do I know, I'm just a professional speaker for 25 years. So please explain to me like I'm stupid what message he garbled.

Agree with you 100% on this. To counteract the claims of "mostly white audience", how does one square his comments? Was he speaking dyslexians in the audience? How did he identify those? Was he talking about average intelligence? Cause that is sort of the overall point.

BTW - Most news sources say the audience was mostly Black, with some going with "mixed-race" or "whites scattered amongst". It's pure gaslighting to say the audience was mostly, predominantly or even substantially white. It was not. Any clip showing such is likely AI.

You're a "professional speaker" for TWENTY FIVE YEARS and you need me to explain how to know your audience and how mirroring and intending X but using the wrong words and analogies can mean Y to them? Yikes.

I feel like you understood the point and just need to hear yourself say it out loud. Read over your post again and process what you typed and save me the trouble of wording it differently for a third time.

Draw on that extensive 25 years of experience. If you understand the technique, and yet still arrive at "he thinks black people are dumb" then that's just intentionally obtuse. I'm not re-explaining something you clearly already understand but are being willfully ignorant over for the sake or argument.

I dont think intelligence is the primary issue here at page 5, I think there is a large portion being intentionally obtuse.

It's akin to me telling my 14 year old to clean her room and her replying "it's not my room. You own the house."
