Two different PC's where they talk about how they were so offended by Trump's joke and thus it is clear that is why they didn't come to the SOTU or WH. Then they also talk about how awesome it was to go to party with convicted wife beater Flavor Flav. Well at least the whole "They have to get back to school and work!" and all the other excuses are shown to be BS.

It's fine of course, they can do as they want. That said they just blew a great opportunity to get a lot of new fans and expand their sport. Most hockey fans aren't woke and they are patriotic, they just lost a ton of goodwill and they lost a lot of people that otherwise may have been interested to support them that now never will. All they had to do was have a few of their members (didn't need to be everyone) go and be polite in the WH and smile. They didn't need to praise Trump or agree with him, just be classy and appreciative. Guess that was too much to ask. It's a choice.

I love women and have huge respect for the key ones in my life, along with just respect for the gender overall.

But what is it with these women sports champions (hockey, soccer, basketball) who think they gotta complain about something? Why can't they just relish the moment and let fans admire their accomplishment? It's a huge turn off.

One month ago, you could count the number of women's hockey followers on one hand throughout the whole country.
In 6 months , it'll still be the same number
In 4 years, it'll still be the same paltry number.

Why? Because nobody will ever care about women's hockey. And it's not sexism as to why - example given- Americans prefer watching and cheering and remembering American female gymnasts, and don't give a damn about mens gymnasts, just like they don't give a damn about women's hockey

Why are women continually victims…I don't treat women in my professional life or personal life any different than men, yet we see consistently that women still want to hang the victim tag on themselves on a daily basis. I am certainly not acting like there aren't true MISOGYNISTIC men in our society, just like racist, but definitely not to the extent that some women make it out to be.

I have 3 daughters and have raised them not be victims and they are responsible for themselves.

He didn't, his joke wasn't even about them it was about Democrats. I'm not offended either, it's their loss. They can do what they want but it was a dumb PR move, especially lying about the reason initially for sympathy only to come out and show that it was petty all along. They basically just Megan Rapinoe'd themselves.

They could have at least been smart enough to not send that letter saying it was due to scheduling conflicts and getting back to work/school before partying with Flavor Flav and doing these PC's. Really too bad, they had a great win but life is choices.

It's also a major eyeroll that they didn't come because of the joke. They wanted to make their own little political statement. Fine, but all they did was cost themselves a LOT of potential support.

I'm going to take the other tack and say that I honestly believe them when they say they want to refocus the spotlight on their accomplishment rather than the drama.

They didnt ask to get made fun of by Trump, whether or not they take it personally it was totally on-brand for him, and now this is all people are taking about and it makes them look bad. These girls are not millionaire NHL players with FU money, mostly they are college students or PWHL players who dont make much and this is a big accomplishment. Just my 2 cents.

The saddest thing in all of this is the simple collective loss of sense of humor among many on the left. Millions were already headed down the progressive path of constant grievance before Trump but he completely shoved them over the cliff. The need to be offended takes far more effort to me than to simply laugh or ignore a joke. But being offended is the key pillar in a victim mindset.

And now boys and girls a lesson in reality.


The men's team players will head back to the NHL pursuing a super alpha male career and having a ton of fun. They spray beer on each other in the locker room and laugh at the same jokes they were recorded laughing at. They'll make millions and party with, date, and marry incredibly beautiful women. Eventually these beautiful women, living fantastic lives with their husbands, will give them some beautiful babies.

The women's team players will head back to.....................whatever it was they were doing before the Olympics.

If there is a Trump supporter on that team, she is alone. Had the locker room incident not occurred, I think it highly probable that they would have declined the invitation to make a political statement.
