Me personally, I would go 100% of the time. I also wouldn't pull that stunt where I cross out Biden's name to have Trump sign some certificate or letter. I don't care who is in office. I'd be honored to be recognized by POTUS and would cherish that document for the remainder of my days.

I think they should compete. I also think it's fair to say there is little to no interest in this sport outside of the olympics and parents paying their kids through club sports until college.

I didn't see Trumps comment until I read this thread, and I did not know they had turned down his invitation.

FWIW, I would gladly eat a Quarter Pounder at the White House regardless who is President, but I don't expect an invitation anytime soon. Maybe it was to do with something I wrote on Usenet in 1997. I dunno.


One thing that disappoints me about America today is how many people are convinced they will be offended even before someone they don't like opens their mouth. There seems to be a lot of that from both sides. It seems to be a hindrance to having legit conversations, something we Americas used to be proud of

I am not surprised that the Gold Medal winning US Women's hockey team ranted about being very offended by President Trump's joke because liberal white women always play the victim. They claimed they declined the State they declined his invitation to the White House and the State of Union because of scheduling conflicts, but they were partying with Flavor Flav and doing several press conferences. They squandered a very rare opportunity to go to the White House and meet the President. Screw them!

*note- i dont know if the women's hockey team **** on the usa or not, but, as im not generally a hockey or women's hockey fan, I obviously have only relative associated support, in so much as I want every usa Olympic team or athlete to dominate. Its obviously much easier to root for the men's team which oozes American pride than other athletes who crap on it when given the opportunity

The only team I will not support and would be fine if they would entirely disassociate themsleves with the usa is the uswnt. Screw them.
