If Trump hadn't wasted his vast resources of the highest grade of this stuff trying to cool off some Russian hookers, we would not be in this mess.

How much of this stuff does Iran produce?

no idea but i don't think it's a significant supplier. still, ships are only moving a trickle out of the SOH which is the problem

The "problem" is the regime in Iran won't surrender to the terms provided them.

Everything else is just noise.

Oh, they will come around, eventually.

Fine by me. Supply and demand elasticity proven to still be true.

To be honest, the blockade continuing puts the US in ever stronger negotiating position as Trump continues to navigate tariffs and trade deals. China is going to have to temper its level of arsehoe when meeting with Trump in a couple of weeks.

For those who have been patient, there will be lots of buying opportunities in all sorts of markets coming up.

The regime in Iran is much, much weaker than many are realizing. Folks forget there is essentially zero independent reporting from inside Iran. Was more discussion by the pundits yesterday that they believe civilian protests in Iran may be on the horizon and defections in the military will increase as pay and food dry up.

The currency in Iran is essentially worthless and becoming more so by the minute.

But somehow he left thinks the Iranian Islamist regimes holds are the cards, despite us blowing off all their fingers.

That Iran is the one threatening to go kinetic again imminently over the blockade should tell a neutral observer exactly who is feeling the heat.

if you're only focused on the conflict, sure. but the global impact is not irrelevant

What is the downside to us, globally? Even Canada is sick of the IRGC, in their usual quiet way.

And despite the loud rhetoric, it has strengthened our leverage/economic relationship with Europe (while allowing us somehow to plan to decrease our military commitments to them looking forward):

The global impact of Iran announcing they have 11 nukes would have a much, much, much worse impact on the markets.

You would have mass depopulation of the region and probably little to no shipping in the Mediterranean, Red Sea, Suez, and western Indian Ocean until the nuclear threat was removed. Regardless of any fatwas, pink promises between Kohmeni and infidels, and any other lame excuses for not taking action in Iran that have been propagated.

Thanks GOD Trump has the strength to ignore the political fallout and take the right action to put America first.

Such a predictable worn out talking point.

you keep arguing about stuff i'm not even arguing about.

i'm merely talking about the secondary effects of the conflict. those are not disputable. sure, it can be positive that we supply more LNG to other countries. but it also means all those ships we are loading in the GOA are sucking dry our gas and diesel inventories. food prices going up because of fertilizer shortages. these are also real impacts.

no nukes is great. but it's worthy to discuss broader impacts of the whole situation.

Neither the Great Z not Adolf Vladimir made any effort for peace. Sort of hard to end it when both sides rolled in and said we hate each other and would like to continue to kill one another Mr Trump.

So he obliged.

Write your congressman. And facts still matter. Trump and Hegseth had delayed releasing these funds for as long as practical.

Swing and a miss. Much like the Astros these days.

Quote:

The Pentagon has released a $400 million military aid package for Ukraine after months of delays and mounting pressure from U.S. lawmakers, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on April 29.

Speaking during a hearing before the United States House Armed Services Committee, Hegseth confirmed that the funding had been unlocked after bureaucratic hurdles were resolved.

"The funds were released as of yesterday," Hegseth told lawmakers, marking the first official confirmation that the aid package was moving forward.

The $400 million package had already been approved by Congress but remained stalled at the Pentagon for months, drawing criticism from both Republican and Democratic lawmakers who accused the Defense Department of delaying critical support for Kyiv.

In case you forgot the exchange you jumped in to.

So are you admitting you derailed by switching to prior appropriated funding by Congress when responding to an exchange on Trump ending the war in Ukraine?

Sorry your TDS derail failed. The rest of us see you grabbed a headline about Pentagon money and Ukraine and went all "Trumph!" without reading the article.

Dude calm down, I simply stated that we are indeed funding Ukraine, which is the truth. I don't know why you keep getting so upset over this. Take a deep breath and re read the whole interaction again. You're grasping at straws to paint me with a claim I never made.
