Thune has said he's in support of the law, but they don't have the votes to force the talking filibuster, and no Dems are flipping outside of maybe Fetterman so 60 isnt going to happen either. At this point he just needs to bring it to a vote to put everyone on record.

I'm having a hard time finding what the "watered down version" is, and of course nothing is up for a vote. But I'll amend what I said earlier, if Trump signs it before the runoff it I'll vote Cornyn.

But I think this is all moot. Science Denier likely right that Senate leadership has no intention of passing this, and I get the feeling they would sooner sacrifice Cornyn than do so. It's likely Cornyn is now scared and is in "con the rubes" mode. Personally I'm not buying it unless it is done.

RINO's are liberals and I agree they are more insidious than Dems because they try to make you believe they aren't liberal . Cornyn is one of the poster children for this MO.

This is why the primaries are so important. Even if you don't primary a RINO you force them to pull right on the record but the better scenario is of course you primary them in favor of more conservative candidates. I can't tell you how many conservative voters I talk to that are unaware of this and don't even vote in the primaries. They reliably vote R in general elections but don't understand they could be so much more effective if they would take part in selecting Constitutional conservatives to run in the general elections.

If John Cornyn cared as much about helping President Trump pass the Save America Act as he did helping Biden destroy the 2nd Amendment, it would already be law.

He still refuses to call out his best friends like McConnell for opposing the bill.

Fact check; also true. The silence from Thune-Cornyn et al. Toward Murk/turtle etc. is deafening. Scalding outrage should be directed toward them, and I don't give a crap about comity/decorum etc. at this point.

Whenever Cornyn or his team posts, they're getting absolutely ratioed into oblivion. I truly hope someone has Trump's ear and he understands how betrayed all of us would feel if he endorsed Cornyn. The enemy inside the camp can often do a lot more lasting damage than the one on the outside. That's why treason is a high crime.

Cornyn has been sabotaging good legislation for most of time he has been in Washington, and because of it he has been able to build a powerbase that has exerted tremendous power over the Republican machinery in the state, thus assuring he gets weak opponents. We finally have a primary candidate that can beat him. Conservatives in Texas need to get behind Paxton and put an end to the Cornyn era.

I feel so bad for the nice people of that little town. It was a great place to go during spring break way back in the late 80s while waiting for Padre to get cranked up. They were so appreciative of us coming there and spending our money.
