So they're both POS. As I said, I'm no Orban apologist. I just said they got themselves a real winner.

Oh he's a pos imho but I don't think she is/has published such a tome. I think the 'put a puppy in the microwave' etc. stuff is sensationalism online. Like most divorces, it wasn't really 'amicable' to say the least.

Wait....someone didn't do their due diligence?

Magyar is actually a conservative…closer to the true meaning of the word than culture war populist types. He's not a leftist in any way shape or form.

He would fit right in the Reagan mold, when conservatism still knew and understood its rich heritage and values and wasn't hijacked by unhinged sociopathic weirdos.

It's funny you say that as a derogative. You liberals really hate that conservatives are fighting back in the culture war these days. Politics are downstream of culture.

I won't take long for Hungarians to be dreaming of the days of Orban. They got duped just like many other European countries.

Well, that didn't take long. Who didn't see that coming?

Reagan very much engaged in many aspects of social conservatism and the rise of the religious right

I am happy a Putin puppet is no longer prez, but you are right the EU is gong to make it tough on him as he unfortunately doesn't have other options. Let's see what can negotiate.

This is going to be a fun thread to check back in on over the next year. The leftists celebrating his win neglect that his super-majority is going to actually what matters. The former communists now running their legislature will make any personal opinions/needed deception from him irrelevant.

The taxes/energy prices and yes immigration/migration are coming now for Hungarians, whether they thought they were voting for those things or not.

Mike Benz has been posting some insightful information in regard to Hungary. Applauding Orban's demise is equivalent to surrendering to the will of the globalist cult.

Opening of the article: Consider a thought experiment. Imagine the US Congress paid a freshman representative his full salary, gave him immunity from criminal prosecution, and then quietly arranged for him to skip 98% of all floor votes so that no voter could ever discover what he actually believed. Now imagine that same representative ran for governor on the promise that he was "just like the incumbent, minus the corruption," while powerful institutions spent billions creating the conditions for his victory. You would call that election interference. When the European Union did precisely this in Hungary, the Western press called it democracy.

The pattern extends beyond Magyar himself. 4 of the 10 worst-attending MEPs in the current term are Tisza Party members: Magyar at 1.85%, Zoltn Tarr at 20.9%, Gabriella Gerzsenyi at 32.6%, and Kinga Kollr at 36.3%. This is not a coincidence. It is a coordinated strategy to keep an entire party's positions off the record. When Tisza MEPs did occasionally vote, the European Policy Centre's February 2026 analysis found they showed tactical alignment with Fidesz on politically sensitive issues, converging with Orbn's Patriots for Europe group in 44% of votes, well above the EPP average.

Well at least on the migration litmus test, Magyar is proving himself to be exceptionally Magyar:

For the good of Hungary, let us hope it is a sign of great things to come.

Looks good, assuming the line holds as that post assesses.
