Ah, no worries.

This is actually more great news as Cassidy is a rino who should absolutely be discarded, but I never trust Louisiana voters to do the right thing.

You're a wise one, that's for sure!

I think the Republicans will retain Alaska and Ohio and win tossup states Michigan and Georgia for 53 Senate seats, and the Democrats will retain New Hampshire and win tossup states Maine and North Carolina for 47 Senate Seats.

Checking back in, it seems like MI and ME are the top two GOP priorities right now, both trending in the right direction, thanks largely to Democrats.

I am optimistic about NC, given the voter registration trend lines, but that could slip from Tillis (rino) to Cooper by 3 to 5 points if I am wrong. OH and AK I am not real concerned about at this point, let alone Texas, though there may be a play for GA still.

GA race against ossoff is looking solid right now, based on voters picking the GOP candidates for the two state supreme court cases and the primary results as well. I read that it is likely most of the Carter voters will shift to Collins in the run off with Dooley, as the former also tried to align with Trump vs. Kemp. I'm fairly certain Collins is the strongest candidate to take on Ossoff in Nov.

Bonus; Obama's anti-midas touch demonstrated yet again.

Good to see some evidence of Democrats calling out Platner.

Breitbart: 'Non-partisan' analysis predicts Dems will fail to take senate.
Quote:

A nonpartisan analysis forecasts that Democrats will fail to retake the U.S. Senate Majority in the midterms, despite the establishment media narrative that Republicans could lose the upper chamber.
An Inside Elections analysis recently provided an updated rating, with the tally forecasting Republicans with 52 seats, Democrats with 45 seats, and three tossups.

More specifically, the analysis showed Maine and Ohio tilting in the GOP's direction.

In Maine, for example, Senate candidate Graham Platner (D) the left's presumptive nominee hoping to oust Republican Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) has continued to go down in flames with resurfaced Reddit posts showcasing shocking remarks he has made. In one, the 41-year-old Democrat mocked an American soldier who was shot four times in Afghanistan, writing, "Dumb mother****er didn't deserve to live." In another unearthed social media post, Platner admitted to masturbating every time he defecates in a porta-potty, and he praised crude ***** drawings.

The forecast also looked at other swing states, including Michigan, North Carolina, and Georgia, deeming all three tossups.

Good to see, but a lot of time left. I think Bill Mitchell is correct in this though:

Ted Cruz is predicting some sort of senate revolt over the anti-weaponization compensation fund Trump won. I'm not sure why the Senators think they should have more power over it. They're the ones who voted for all of the Obama-Biden judges engaged in lawfare/show trials of conservatives.

Mary Peltola tries the sleazy maneuver of getting a fake 'Dan Sullivan' to run against Dan Sullivan in order to trick voters in their ranked choice voting system into failing to back the GOP nominee.
Quote:

Sullivan's campaign hasn't hid the fact that the names of the phony candidate and the incumbent are the same as the press release is headlined "Dan Sullivan Challenges Dan Sullivan for U.S. Senate Seat" with a subheading of "Urges Alaskans to defeat incumbent, elect a Sullivan who Stands up for Alaska." Sullivan has also taken to adopting incumbent Sullivan's original campaign slogan of "Sullivan for Senate."

Local media have noted the odd situation and Peltola's involvement, as Peltola recently completed a trip to Sullivan's hometown of Petersburg.

Alaska will hold its election on November 3, and the winner will be selected by rank-choice voting.

This will backfire on her, I believe. Pathetic deception is par for the course for Democrats. She's been polling 'ok' but I think this reeks of desperation.

It's getting worse for Dems in many races, MI-ME are going to be absolute dog crap candidates in the general for them as it stands (they may yank Platner this month as a consequence):

More good news for the good guys.

Senate actually passed a Border Enforcement Bill last night and didn't remove the fund.

Murkowski, being the RINO that she is, was the lone Republican who voted against the bill.

Seeing no evidence they are tossing/burning real cash at Talarico at this point either. Most of his money comes from out of state of course.

Vivek is doing better and Amy lockdown Acton I think is the real lunatic who will wind up losing here, which while not a senate race is very good for the GOP to lock out Sherrod Brown's campaign in the senate race (which is functionally tied according to polls right now).

not possible.

I read here that because Vivek said 3 years ago he doesn't believe Jesus is THE son of God, his chances are sunk

I'm not his biggest fan but he easily cruised in the primary, winning every single county, and the controversies around his faith/background/crypto etc. seem like they don't matter in the big picture. Ohio usually comes home for the GOP at this point and there is pretty much good party unity there this year imho.

Dems in general are losing what momentum they had.

Trump-endorsed Mike Collins won vs. Dooley, pretty healthy 6 point win (outside of greater atlanta):

Interestingly, Trump's pick for governor lost (Rick Jackson won), fwiw. Georgia republicans have a pretty consistent independent streak. Brian Kemp came out after early voting was over to endorse (Trump backed) Burt Jones?

I still anticipate Collins making life tough for Ossoff in October, so whatever I guess.

Really glad to see Dooley lose. senators need just a touch more on the qualifications than "my dad was a popular football coach here years ago"

If you are a republican/conservative with a room temp iq or higher you shouldn't want Trump influencing the Georgia senate race at all given his horrendous track record there over in sabotaging the 2020 senate races and the Hershel walker pick.

Well, Trump is undoubtedly of dubious utility in Georgia but I don't think it's likely he stays out of such calls/endorsements in any case.

Rogers seems to be stuck around 42 percent in Michigan. Jihadist El Sayed seems to have settled into first place in their primary.

Another bad poll:

A desperate, and dishonest Jon Ossoff took tot he pulpit to lie about his opponent this weekend. (He's not even christian, oh btw.)

Unsurprisingly, he has said nothing about the SPLC's long-term funding of racists:

He's taken a lot of AIPAC money as well (to be fair I think he is Jewish, at least nominally) but I don't think we'll hear much from the champions of Tom Massie etc. about that.

RCP has him up 2.8 but it's mostly older/RV polls.

Georgia is solidly red in both of their State houses, with a two term Republican Governor who won easily the second time. Not sure why the GOP has such difficulty getting elected to the Senate. Perhaps just bad candidate selection or Fulton county shenanigans.

I thought Warnock was the man of the pulpit?!

Real leaders of the Christian word… Talarico, Ossoff, Warnock and the like.

And pretty sure that church just lost its tax exempt status.

Of course I am sure with Ossoff at the lectern then there as a continuing ed seminar after lunch on the grounds to cover how to effectively execute Medicare and SNAP fraud and other key learings.

Georgia is not aligned with MAGA values and as such they are not red in any sense. Between Kemp and Rufflebutburglar and supposed Rs who proudly supported Biden, it's a state full limited thinkers and low IQ.

They worship at the feet of Fani Willis. It's on its way to being the New Jersey of the South.

And there is the problem.

As long as candidates are required to swear fealty to Trump, and that is the #1 and only qualification that matters to the Republican base, then Republicans will continue to lose states like Georgia. The GOP needs candidates that align with the states they're in. If MAGA hurts candidates in a state, then Trump should stay out of it and let the voters decide who to run, not vote for someone because Trump says to.

Kissing Trump's ass should never be a requirement to win the nomination. We saw the same crap in Texas and now we have two idiots as the nominees for AG and TRRC.

The majority of this country does not and has never liked Trump. They voted for him because he was better than the alternative.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Fine with losing Georgia.

It's not aligned with making America great again and that's a problem for me and many others. HTH.

Trump won the popular vote last time and has been elected POTUS 3 times in a row. But yea, majority of Americans hate him and wish we had more child mutilation options.
