My preference would be, in order DeSantis, Vance, Rubio.

It takes a different guy to be a leader as opposed to a smart and capable staff officer. Both are necessary for the success of the enterprise, but Rubio has never governed or led others. DeSantis might be the best governor of any state in US history.

Chuuuuch! </Snoop voice>

I didn't like Marco earlier, but now I do.

Vance talked about H1Bs after laying people off and other things but nothing from him after that.

JD will do just fine. I recall the same crowd was telling us to pick DeSantis or lose with Trump.

How helpful was DeSantis in helping to win the state house R seat in President Trump's backyard?

And?

If Trump himself can't get the people "in his backyard" to vote for him, then no one can. This is one of the weirdest criticisms I've ever heard on this board.

Rubio has grown on me a lot. He's very bright and offers a calming presence that would be a great contrast to Trump and whoever the Dems have chosen to run with over the years.

DeSantis with his executive experience stands out though, even if his voice and personality come off a bit awkward compared to Rubio.

Every time Rubio opens his mouth, I am more impressed with him.

He was the only person in the White House who gave an articulate reason why we got involved with bombing Iran.

He's been the best "Trump translator" by far. Which is quite a job.

Hardest job since Ed Orgeron vs teleprompter:

He is very Presidential in my opinion. Conducts himself with dignity also.
He sticks within his lane most of the time (which is what he should be doing) but I am curious to know his views on other topics too.

The thing with Marco is that he just seems to get things done, but I'm not sure how good he is at persuading people to do what he wants them to do.

Having Trump as the President and Marco as COO is a powerful, powerful combination. He can play good cop with people, saying it is best to deal with him than to go back to the well with the maniac in charge. But, many COOs struggle with the CEO role. He might actually just be too much of a nice guy to be the best POTUS. That is my one concern about Rubio.

But, he is an absolute great choice for POTUS, IMO. He's earned the shot with his record, that is for sure.

Give me Desantis, but depending on how the next couple of years go, Rubio would be a great choice as well. I'm not high on Vance as POTUS, though I think he's been a good VP.

Desantis will have the benefit of not being tied to Trump's negatives as much.

Desantis, seriously?

I didn't know there were still Desantis people left...

No one wields executive power with the efficiency of DeSantis.

He flat out gets S*** done.

I would love to see him as POTUS or maybe AG, where he can finish cleaning out the FBI and CIA.

It really doesn't matter. If we've learned anything over the past nine years, it's that based on our last three elections a wet turd in a ripped sack could be President. Obviously it ain't that hard.

Rubio? Uh no- we need an actual America First candidate in 2028. Rubio is just a retread of Bush/McCain/Paul Ryan/Mitt Romney/etc. GOP status quo pre 2016.

yes it is CNN, but it is undeniable that electorally JD Vance will lose (it is very hard to win a third term from the same party in the first place)

and that Marco is SUBSTANTIVELY a superior candidate and more experienced to be POTUS

I'd love to see Lil Marco nominated, I think JD plays way too much footsie with the woke right, but I can't see a scenario in which Trump leads with Marco over JD.

I can see Trump endorsing both or declining to endorse. Rubio is being a good Trump asset at Sec of State. I doubt Trump forces Vance on the party. I bet it gets resolved early.

One quirk is the VP and P nominees can't be from the same state. So no Rubio/DeSantis ticket or vice versa. Of course Cheney "moved" to Wyoming so that he wouldn't be from the same state as Bush. I don't think people would buy that from the Florida governor or senator.

This is not correct. The Electors can't vote for both a president and vice president from the same state the electors are in.

In your example, if Florida went Republican in 2028, the electors would all vote Rubio for president then vote for Mickey Mouse for vice president.

The "Cheney to Wyoming" is to avoid the headache of needing the delegations to vote in Desantis as VP if he was short of the 270 votes. You'd have Rubio as president and vice president TBD

I don't think any of those numbers mean anything at all right now. You have 3 viable candidate right now - JD, DeSantis, and Rubio. All are great candidates. It will matter more so how the economy is going, is Iran over with, and who the dems put up. If they do another candidate as bad as kammie, then either of the 3 could win.

DeSantis is a classic example of if I could appoint someone as POTUS it would be him, but I don't think he's charismatic enough to win the nomination of the presidency. I don't like that charisma is that important but it undeniably is.
I'd like to see RD get a USSC spot. He'd be a rock solid conservative for 30 years.

A corporate tax cut and some executive order which will be thrown out by the judges he installed.

No mass deportations, no end to H1B, no epstein files, no swamp drain, no wall, no infrastructure bill, no middle class tax cut.

So far we got a huge spend bill (big beautiful), a boilerplate GOP corporate tax cut, and a boilerplate GOP war in the middle east for israel.

Last month was the only time during the term that inflation was higher than Jan 2025...

One month could be an anomaly, probably due to the Iran war. If it ends, April will probably be back below Jan 2025.

BTW, glad you know what everyone thinks on the war...maybe get out of your echo chamber, because there are a lot of people that realize it was going to happen, the question was only "when"...

Illegal entry at the border has essentially gone to ZERO. There have been tons of deportations (do you not watch the news). And the middle class tax cut was part of the BBB...
