There are no merger talks and American said it is not going to happen.

United CEO Scott Kirby trolling since there is no way the feds would allow it, nor would it survive the inevitable court challenges.

I actually know a number of people who just drive cross country. They take shifts as a family or group of friends. Many just rent cars to not put the mileage on their own vehicles. And these are not LOL poor types.

For example, Texas to Florida is not bad at all, especially if you have a teen or two that can drive. And scenic along the Gulf of America.

No bailouts for Airlines, especially the ****ty ones. Why should the American taxpayer subsidize people trips to Vegas for people who shouldn't be going there in the first place. Drive or don't go.

My ex boss did this with her husband and three kids for their annual trip to Florida. Main reason was time with family but now it's flight prices for 5 round trip vs renting a car for a week and a hotel stay somewhere in MS is better.
