Let the debtors take over the company, wipe out the equity and see if they survive. If they can't, then let them liquidate. No bailouts for corporations.

Solyndra was a horrible idea and all of the other attempts to get government to choose winners and losers are equally bad.

Going bankrupt is how other people that can manage an airline better, pick up assets on the cheap and start a new business at an advantage.

I wish they would have let GM fail, so we could have seen what someone better could do with their assets. But sending them money to shore up pension plans, buys votes. Not sure if Spirit has pension plans.

Prior to 2008, the country didn't do many bailouts of any kind. We did an S&L and Chrysler bailout in the 80s. The country grew much faster and raised prosperity of the average American faster when we left companies to be run by CEOs and if they failed, they failed. That is a lot closer to Capitalism that raised this country to be the envy of the world and it is the solution to a lot of economic malaise we have today but we are still trending the other way.

Let CEOs run the heart of the economy and not politicians like in Communist/socialist countries.

I'm no airline expert, but $500MM seems low to me to keep a failing airline running, even if it is spirit.

Bad Trump.

Let private equity rescue it, or arrange for it to be purchased through the bankruptcy process.
