This is dumb. What did the Jews do to that ultimate Jew?

Same thing every single one of us did, you and I included. This is such a sick take.

How is it a sick take? Jesus called them a brood of vipers. If they are not repentant and acknowledge Him as Messiah then they are on the side of evil.

He called the Pharisees a group of Vipers, those who considered their membership in a group to be sufficient for salvation and who based their righteousness on following man made rules and traditions. Sounding familiar? It's not unique to them at the time nor today, which is why pointing at the Jews completely misses the point and just is an excuse to hate a group that is no different than anyone else in accountability.

That's not what St Peter said.

Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.

It os an odd take. We are not all responsible for what Judas did. We are not all responsible for what the chief priest did. "Each is to die for his own sin." "

Not celebrating the holidays of Christ deniers (whose Talmud basically says Christ is burning for eternity in human excrement) does not make you an "anti" anythinig or mean you "hate" anyone.

I don't know a single Jew who celebrates Christmas, or even has a positive view of Christianity...in fact, they almost all seem to have a chip on their shoulder in regards to it.

But I do have an issue with your logic...that "hatred of Jews is a hatred of The Ultimate Jew". Hating people who hate Christ and think he is suffering in burning human sh** for eternity does not mean you hate the man they hate. LOL...that makes zero sense. Muslims have a far more favorable view of Christ than Jews.

I know plenty. Some of you don't seem to truly know any. They should be grateful for Christian conservatives (largely the reason they exist and that the state of Israel exists), yet the vast majority despise Christians and conservatives, at least to some degree. They are also overwhelmingly liberal...largely just reflexively, in opposition or defiance to the "WASP's". There are some great ones, but overwhelmingly, they do not like our faith or what we stand for.

Again, peep what the Talmud says about Jesus Christ. Google it if you don't believe me. Adults and children with weird ass haircuts will mock and spit on (and sometimes physically assault) street preachers preaching the gospel in Jerusalem. Just the other day I saw a video of an asian female preaching the gospel being violently assaulted by a bunch of Jewish kids with rat tails on the sides of their heads.

I prefer the Jews to the Muslims obviously, but I will never understand the people who think they are "God's chosen ones".

Muslims don't believe Christ was crucified and believe he will return to destroy the church and proclaim Mohammed was the true prophet and that Allah is God. Jews believe that Christ was a false prophet. I'll let you decide which is a "more favorable view." Quoting the Talmud without understanding the beliefs behind it is like quoting the Bible to justify gay marriage. It's asinine.

You don't have to agree with the Jews' rejection of Christ to realize that they still hold a role in God's plan. My logic only fails if you take a supersessionist approach that says God broke his eternal covenant with the Jews instead of grafting the gentile into the fold.

You need to separate the idea of salvation from the possibility that a specific group of people could play a role in God's covenant with humanity. Being God's chosen people is not an indulgence that gets you into heaven. In fact, it often leads to pain and suffering given the inherent nature of man.

You're also basing your opinion of "eternal torment" for Jesus on specious information that you've read on the internet. It's not quite that simple if you know anything about the Jewish conception of the afterlife or commentary on that specific story in the Talmud. But I guess it's easier to hate and dismiss people if they think something that you take umbrage with, so you're willing to take it at face value.

Either way, this is delving into things that are not the topic of this thread. The point is honoring the sabbath, as Jesus did, is never a bad thing to recommend.

Tell me what the Talmud says about Jesus...it doesn't say he was a b@stard son sorcerer who led Jewish ppl astray and was deserving of his crucifixion? My point is not that we should hate them for this...but that Christians who are super gung-ho over Jews/Israel because they are "God's chosen people" or "need to be protected at all costs" are mislead...and border on being a word that rhymes with "ducks". Goaltending for a bunch of people who would spit in the face of the Messiah is "rhymes with duck" behavior.

They should be nothing more than a chess piece over there imo...we should have sway over them - not the other way around...because there are numerous unstable countries filled with pedophile worshiping savages.

Jews/Israel should be eternally grateful to us for their existence. God didn't save these Christ-haters, the Christian West did. If we are going to focus on helping anyone, it should be Christians who are being persecuted and mistreated all across the globe.

At the end of the day, you can accept and respect other's religions without having to condone nor condemn it.

Good friend who we travel with routinely is an observant Muslim. We accommodate his dietary restrictions even though he asks us not to make any exceptions and if we can we accommodate restrictions during Ramadan.

Doing so does not automatically sign me up for mosque membership and Allujah Akbar Quarterly.

I can understand and respect that Jews and Muslims are aware of Jesus but do not consider him the same way I do. You can witness as Christians are called to do much better if you start off with some mutual understanding and respect.

Taking the "I shall cast you into the fires of hell if you do not reject your Jewish ways, apologize for killing Jesus, say you are sorry for leading us into multiple forever ways and we demand reparations for your occupation of Jerusalem" is not how most successful conversions from Judaism to Christianity begin.
Texaguser17

I don't mean to jump in the middle and with all due respect I think you might be missing the plot. The recommendation to honor the sabbath isn't because God ordained it or because Jesus did and is Lord of it. It's to honor an ethnic group, which doesn't have exclusivity to this ordained day. And lastly we can read Gods thoughts on Jews doing their rites.

Hear the word of the Lord,
you rulers of Sodom!
Give ear to the teaching of our God,
you people of Gomorrah!
11 "What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices?
says the Lord;
I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
and the fat of well-fed beasts;
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
or of lambs, or of goats.
12 "When you come to appear before me,
who has required of you
this trampling of my courts?
13 Bring no more vain offerings;
incense is an abomination to me.
New moon and Sabbath and the calling of convocations
I cannot endure iniquity and solemn assembly.
14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts
my soul hates;
they have become a burden to me;
I am weary of bearing them.
15 When you spread out your hands,
I will hide my eyes from you;
even though you make many prayers,
I will not listen;
your hands are full of blood.
16 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
cease to do evil,
17 learn to do good;
seek justice,
correct oppression;
bring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow's cause.
18 "Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you shall eat the good of the land;
20 but if you refuse and rebel,
you shall be eaten by the sword;
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken."

21 How the faithful city
has become a *****,
she who was full of justice!
Righteousness lodged in her,
but now murderers. (Isaiah 1:1021.

Without repentance and turning to Jesus there is no difference to engaging in rites and rituals and feats and sabbaths then when these words were written by Isaiah.

Historical facts about the composition of the Bible will lead to a rabbit hole of epic proportions.

The Bible is the ultimate of cherry picked stories by mortal men. And that's fine, because it's your faith that makes it the word of God and I am not here to challenge anyone's faith.

But here in politics, you will never get consensus on religion and in America that is by genius design.

No, it's actually nothing like that, at all. The Torah is the contractual written covenant between Isreal and God. A covenant God quite plainly states He will NEVER break, knowing full well Isreal would.

I don't agree with full Dispensationalists but this Groyper notion that God has completely moved on from the genetic lineage of the people of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob flatly ignores massive chunks of the Bible.
Texaguser17
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It doesn't ignore it at all. Genetics have nothing to do with salvation as Paul very eloquently states. The offspring of Abraham is not based on blood but faith. That is Gods written word. Any notion that some genetic group has any bearing is actual racism which the gospel is contrary to. What benefit do you believe being a genetic descendant of Abraham provides that being a Christian doesn't? This is akin to Esau trading the eternal promises of God for the something of this earth, food. I'm genuinely curious your answers here. Ive yet to see anyone reasonably answer it.

As a side note I posted above Gods own feelings towards the Jews practicing what He commanded them to do but they missed the plot. Do you think they've made some collective improvements in this area? Do you believe Christians should start practicing these rites for the sake of honoring Jews?

What benefit do you suppose is bestowed upon Jews or God for doing so? Do you believe you are doing God a favor? These works are dead as they are a part from Jesus.

Another thought to consider since you evoked Gods covenant. Have you read what God said he would do for those who break it?
Silent For Too Long

Why do you think the Bible has devoted so much real estate to the genealogical record if who you are descended from doesn't matter?

It plainly matters. It also explicitly says God is using Isreal's unbelief specifically to benefit the gentiles.

I have no idea what God's plan for Isreal(the people, not the spiritual successors) is, but you have to willfully ignore massive chunks of the Bible to convince yourself that He just moved on.

Do you think its just a coincidence that they keep popping up at the center of the most pivotal moments in history? I don't.

You make an excellent point that I do not want to dismiss. A couple of thoughts on it. 1. It is important in regards to Jesus as He is the physical descendant of King David for the promises made specifically to David. 2. The general genealogical records are lost and aren't important. The reason being is again your position has to prove that being "children of Abraham" is a genealogical distinction. Which I believe it is not based on numerous scriptures.

John the baptist says God can raise children of Abraham from rocks as a rebuke to the pharisees for claiming the very same thing you are, (genetic superiority)

"and think not to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say unto you that God is able from these stones to raise up children unto Abraham." Matt 3:9

We also have Paul explaining through numerous examples that being a child of Abraham is NOT about the flesh but of faith.
"In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring. " Romans 9:8

This is very very clear.

The plan for the physical descendants is the same for us all... the new covenant. The new covenant was made FIRST with the Jews at the last supper. And Jerusalem was proselytized to FIRST. There is no duality, there is no second track, there is no separate way. There is ONE Way, ONE Truth, and ONE Life. God is not a God of confusion, its very clear. Im also not surprised you didnt answer my questions posed, this is not meant as a gotcha. I mean this is the upmost respect to you. The view point you seem to hold is incongruent with being able to answer them. I would encourage you to fully delve into all of the implications of your viewpoint. Believing there is some genetic hierarchy is truly a form of racism, even if you believe it from religious doctrines. Which is why I asked the question what benefit does a Jew have that a Christian does not? I think that question kind of gets to the heart of the matter here.
Silent For Too Long
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I don't pretend know what God's plan is, and I never said anything about a genetic hierarchy. I do think there is mountains of evidence that Isteal's path and the path of the gentile is different. Both Christ and Paul clearly differentiate between the two groups of people.

You seem to be focused on salvation but thats really not what I'm talking about at all. I think we will agree that Christ made salvation possible. Anything beyond that will completely derail this thread.

My only point inragards to this thread is God clearly has a specific plan for the people of Isreal, and that plan is clearly different then gentiles. Both the Bible and the last 3,000 years of history make this rather obvious. To me, anyway.
