I have skimmed five pages of this thread of Aggies waxing nostalgic for Pizza, and I don't recall anyone mentioning Double Dave's.

I miss DD all the time. Last time I had opportunity to get was at a soccer tourney in Austin a few years back and it ruled.

I make pepperoni rolls at home from scratch, mainly because there is no Double Dave's near me, so it is the only way to get them.

I worked at DDs in school so I made them all the time when I was there (we could eat anytime we wanted there, even if we weren't at work).

So, after I graduated I did the same thing and made them myself. If I'd had a DD close by, I might have still done it occasionally because they sold the dough CHEAP.

The closest to me used to be a good 35-45 minutes away, depending on traffic, now there is apparently one 18 minutes away. Still easier/quicker to make them at home.

I'm SOL, nearest one now is hundreds of miles away. I just looked at their website and had no idea that they have DD in Oklahoma and Colorado now. Need to get one to Little Rock, but I'm sure the first AR location would be Fayetteville.

I make them myself too, but I've never mastered the dough. They are good, but not the same.

Check around at the pizza places near you, maybe one of them will sell you dough.
You can turn off signatures, btw

Once I switched to bread flour all the time (I was obsessed with making great pizza with AP flour), it was just a matter of realizing the hydration had to be a little more than I wanted, and it turned out perfect for me. I've also made them using 00 flour.
