yes, it's difficult to forget the previous highly touted 1st round TCU WR...Jalen Reagor.

who was notoriously drafted 1 spot ahead of Justin Jefferson in the 2020 draft...whoops
I think the poster child for why teams might shy away from Johnston is Kevin White from West Virginia, top 10 pick for the Bear in 2016. 6-3 215lbs and ran a 4.35 at the combine and in 6 years COMBINED has less than 400 yards and 0 TDs.

But Reagor didn't help. The most successful WR out of the Big 12 spread recently was Cedee Lamb, who wasn't a burner but more of a route guy. Other than him, is there anyone else that comes to mind lately?

Apparently if the Chiefs can't sign Brown we might be moving Tunsil. I'm mixed on this one, but since Tunsil has a friendly trade contract with just 1 year left, I'm thinking we might get pretty high compensation for him, and get back 16million on the salary cap this year. If that's the case I would take the deal, because he's already talking about being the highest paid LT in the league, and yeah....I'll pass on paying him that money

That would be nice depending on the price

Ok, replying to my own post because Chiefs went option 3

I would not think twice about trading him for decent compensation. Between his desire to be the top paid LT and his tendency to get called for penalties (7th worst for No of flags & 9th worst for yardage among OL in 2022), now would be a good time to move on.

Looks like we're keeping him for right now, Chiefs stole the Jags LT

EDIT, might have spoke too soon, didn't realize that Jawaan was a RT. I wonder if the Chiefs are going to use him as a LT, or maybe rent Tunsil for a year and combo if they don't sign Brown again.

The Commanders signed the Chiefs starting RT, so no clue how this impacts that trade rumor now.

Garoppolo agreed to a three-year, $67.5 million deal, including $34 million guaranteed, a source told Schefter.

No thank you.

That's actually not that bad, 22 million a year for a QB that has 6+ years of starting experience with a high win percentage but injury concerns. That sounds about on target, if not a little lower than what I was expecting

Mildly disappointed thus far. Didn't expect the Texans to go crazy today, but with some cap space I thought they would target a legit starter or two. Seems as if Caserio is sticking to shopping in the bargain bin and signing guys to one or two year deals.

I like bringing in Keenum. Ideal as veteran backup and mentor.

Don't like the idea that Tunsil could be moved. That is your best player and a guy who protects your soon to be new QB. Unless someone is willing to offer you an insane return, pay the man and b done with it.

Well, I certainly didn't think the Texans would sign the same quarterback when I was 38, 40, and 49 years old.

Hurray?

I tend to agree, a little disappointing that there hasn't been any big moves so far. I did see that we're expected to get Jimmie Ward though, so that's a nice upgrade. None of the names I had circled have come off the board yet either.

Trading Tunsil could make sense if they can really believe in a free agent like Orlando Brown and can get him. Brown + picks in a Tunsil trade may be better than just Tunsil.

Ward is a starting DB. Decent addition as long as the contract makes sense…haven't seen numbers yet.

Really want to see them add a veteran center or guard to stabilize the interior of the line, and another starter or two on defense. Don't want to try to fix everything in the draft.

Agreed. My wish list going in:

C (not sure who makes sense though)
Marcus Davenport
Azeez Al-Shaair
Jimmie Ward
Decent DT (maybe Ridgeway counts here, but I was thinking someone a little higher rated)
Maybe Emmanuel Moseley

That would give a lot of flexibility in the draft.

Looks like we got Jimmie Wars which is awesome

Looks like we lost out on Zach Allen to the broncos and Davenport to the Vikings

Davenport is disappointing. Zach Allen only hurts because there's really not a whole lot of high end DL talent out there now. Getting at least one higher end DL was/is a priority in my mind.

Agree completely, we need a large injection of talent on the dline. I'm starting to really zero in on dline for the #12 pick and in the 2nd or 3rd round too.

Nothing flashy so far but I'm liking all the signings. Lots of cheap deals for vets who can help a young team. Also looks like they're embracing the next season being part of the rebuild and I think that's smart.

Keep it rolling.

Wasn't OL a glaring weakness for TB and one the main reasons Brady struggled?

But seems like a quality add

With a new regime coming in culture plays a big role and Demeco no doubt is bringing in free agents and will keep guys that fit what they are trying to build. A great example of this was what Dan Campbell was doing on Hard Knocks last year.

I don't know if Tunsil is the kind of guy you want your youngsters being around and we're about to have a large draft. Would not be surprising to see him get moved.

Their center and other starting guard were out most of the year which caused a ton of issues.

Yeah, I think he suffered last year because they lost their center. But for a 6th rounder, I'll take that production every day.

Yeah, but there are several really good centers available in the draft. With Shaq at RG, I'm really comfortable using a third rounder on a center. OL could be a real strength IF we don't trade Tunsil.

Tunsil/Chiefs rumors are still lingering. Need two 1's to feel good about that.
