I think the poster child for why teams might shy away from Johnston is Kevin White from West Virginia, top 10 pick for the Bear in 2016. 6-3 215lbs and ran a 4.35 at the combine and in 6 years COMBINED has less than 400 yards and 0 TDs.W said:

#Texans Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil has been discussed in potential trade scenario with #Chiefs, according to league sources. Fluid situation on whether it happens, however. #Chiefs potentially retaining Orlando Brown Jr. has not been ruled out by Chiefs, per source

The #Texans have shown interest in C Jake Brendel per league sources.
— DJ Bien-Aime (@Djbienaime) March 12, 2023
Brendel started 17 games for the 49ers in 2022 and allowed only 1 sack and 12 pressures in his lone season starting.
We'll see if a deal transpires this week.

Apparently if the Chiefs can't sign Brown we might be moving Tunsil. I'm mixed on this one, but since Tunsil has a friendly trade contract with just 1 year left, I'm thinking we might get pretty high compensation for him, and get back 16million on the salary cap this year. If that's the case I would take the deal, because he's already talking about being the highest paid LT in the league, and yeah....I'll pass on paying him that money
Former Jaguars’ OT Jawaan Taylor reached agreement on a four-year, $80 million deal, including $60M gtd, with the KC Chiefs, per sources. Deal negotiated and confirmed by Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. pic.twitter.com/jm0XYJUtTy

I would not think twice about trading him for decent compensation. Between his desire to be the top paid LT and his tendency to get called for penalties (7th worst for No of flags & 9th worst for yardage among OL in 2022), now would be a good time to move on.IrishAg said:#Texans Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil has been discussed in potential trade scenario with #Chiefs, according to league sources. That's actually not that bad, 22 million a year for a QB that has 6+ years of starting experience with a high win percentage but injury concerns. That sounds about on target, if not a little lower than what I was expectingMax Power said:

No thank you.

Mildly disappointed thus far. Didn't expect the Texans to go crazy today, but with some cap space I thought they would target a legit starter or two. Seems as if Caserio is sticking to shopping in the bargain bin and signing guys to one or two year deals.
I like bringing in Keenum. Ideal as veteran backup and mentor.
Don't like the idea that Tunsil could be moved. That is your best player and a guy who protects your soon to be new QB. Unless someone is willing to offer you an insane return, pay the man and b done with it.
Jimmie Ward's terms with #Texans (though league source):
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) March 14, 2023
2 years, $13m ($6.5m per season), max $14,5m ($7.25m per season with playing time bonuses).

I tend to agree, a little disappointing that there hasn't been any big moves so far. I did see that we're expected to get Jimmie Ward though, so that's a nice upgrade. None of the names I had circled have come off the board yet either.
Trading Tunsil could make sense if they can really believe in a free agent like Orlando Brown and can get him. Brown + picks in a Tunsil trade may be better than just Tunsil.

Agreed. My wish list going in:
C (not sure who makes sense though)
Marcus Davenport
Azeez Al-Shaair
Jimmie Ward
Decent DT (maybe Ridgeway counts here, but I was thinking someone a little higher rated)
Maybe Emmanuel Moseley
That would give a lot of flexibility in the draft.

Looks like we got Jimmie Wars which is awesome
Looks like we lost out on Zach Allen to the broncos and Davenport to the Vikings
Agree completely, we need a large injection of talent on the dline. I'm starting to really zero in on dline for the #12 pick and in the 2nd or 3rd round too.Ryan34 said:IrishAg said:Ryan34 said:

Davenport is disappointing. Zach Allen only hurts because there's really not a whole lot of high end DL talent out there now. Getting at least one higher end DL was/is a priority in my mind.

Yeah, I think he suffered last year because they lost their center. But for a 6th rounder, I'll take that production every day.mAgnoliAg said:

This comes following Houston’s trade with the #Bucs for RG Shaq Mason. Caan started 16 games last season.
#Texans agree to sign #Cowboys wide receiver Noah Brown to a one-year deal, per a league source @KPRC2 He's 6-foot-2, 225 pounds and caught 43 passes for 555 yards and three touchdowns.
