2021 was 4-13
2022 was 3-13-1

2023 will likely be a losing season...and the first year with a rookie QB will also likely be a losing season.

so the earliest winning record would be 2025

I think it's very unlikely that we pass on a QB this year. One of our top 3 picks will be a QB IMO.

Zierlien seems to think he's a good fit…..if he can stay in the field.

I just don't want them to take a QB because they think they have to. If there is one that fits the system we're putting in, then grab him. The upside is that we're putting in a system that we'll probably be running for at least the next 5-6 years. I'm just hoping that with DeMeco in charge they'll look at the fit and make the determination on who to draft, not just fall back on expectations.

I'm much more open to taking a QB with #2 now that we have a long term head coach and probably coaching staff to work with him. So if they go that route, I won't be upset. But if you go by analytics, and you assume the team is going to get better, then the odds of us regularly competing for a championship are higher if we wait to get our long term QB. That would give us more winning years while he's on his rookie contract. But it's just analytics, so it's not set in stone on which way is right or wrong. When it comes down to it, the "correct"{ choice is whatever path DeMeco and Nick choose to take and we are just along for the ride.

Such a weird post…this is what you got out of the press conference? I take it we won't see you on Texans threads moving forward.

Personal opinions aside I wonder if demeco brings in any former Texans on the staff? Isn't Cushing coaching somewhere?

It's also nice seeing them hire a coach who actually cares about houston and understands the city. Not a transplant who doesn't get football in tx. It's different here.

Jerry has been playing the long game, the really, really, long game. While I agree with him in that what the Rams did paid dividends, it also impacted their long term success chances negatively. I disagree with his assessment including the Eagles because of how they're built by comparison. I do think the Eagles have potential to be good for quite a while, I don't think they're built only for the short term. The Rams approached draft picks as expendable, the Eagles are going to the super bowl and have 2 first round picks in this years draft. They see both the value in having established players and draft picks.

I was referring more to the fact that the entire state takes it so seriously from high school to pros. With Demeco playing in TX for so long he gets how Houston is begging for the team to be successful again and how much the city embraces it.
