Yes but it sounds like this is from not reporting the $27k paid for Deshaun's Houstonian membership.

The thinking is that while not directly a Deshaun penalty if this was anyone else it wouldn't be as big a penalty or maybe even not anything but this was the NFL pinging the Texans for the Deshaun mess.

I get that, but I disagree with lumping the punishment for Deshaun into the reporting error. Handle them separately.

They'll take Stroud and hopefully we'll take Anderson.

i just wish we would trade the #2 pick and load up elsewhere, although i know it wont happen.

I agree at least it's not Indy, but wow, I didn't realize that Chicago was that desperate to move out of the #1 spot. That seems pretty lite on compensation unless they love DJ Moore.

And I agree with Harry Stone, if only we were willing to trade as bidding will be crazy on draft night to move into the #2 spot once the first QB goes top overall.

That seems pretty weak to drop to 9. Additional 1, a late round 2 and DJ Moore who is maybe worth a 2.

What is the point of trading #1 over a month before the draft. If they waited atleast until 1 week out (if not draft day) they likely get a much better haul.

Panthers probably said take it or leave it. Would be brilliant for Carolina to turn around and start a bidding war with it now.

I imagine they can get a crap ton from Indy because now they're sitting at getting QB #3.

Regardless, now we don't have worry about giving up needed assets to move up one spot. I'm still happy if we take Young, Stroud, or Anderson at 2. And I concur that it's nice that it's not Indy who jumped us.

I'll be that guy, but I want Richardson. Guys with his absurd arm strength and/or athleticism don't fail very often.

- Cam Newton: came from an incredibly simple offense. OROY, MVP, 3x Pro Bowler. His run style wore down his shoulder though, which killed his longevity.

- Lamar Jackson: couldn't throw a spiral. MVP.

- Kyler Murray: too small. OROY. Although size may impact his longevity.

- Josh Allen: very similar to Richardson in college, except not as good of a runner. Stud, maybe second only to Mahomes.

- Patrick Mahomes: footwork and pocket awareness was a mess. Certainly not as good as Deshaun Watson in college. Best in the game now.

- Jalen Hurts: got beat out by Tua in college. Definitely better as pro thus far.


We had one of the most complete teardowns that I can remember. I'd rather take the big swing and get the guy who has by far the best upside of any QB and maybe higher than anyone in this draft. As opposed to possibly hitting a single or double. Easy for me as an armchair GM, much different when your job is on the line though.

I'd be 100% fine with Anderson at #2 and Richardson at #12.

A QB needy team would jump us if we tried to wait until 12. Plus, I think Richardson continues to climb. He will put on a show at his pro day when he can really let it loose.

I'd be OK with Hooker in the second round. He's underrated and he's going to be a good NFL QB.
