The AFC South has been paired with the toughest NFC division the last couple of years. Last year was the NFC North that had three teams with 11+ wins, this year the NFC West has three teams already at 11 wins.

Next year it's the NFC East and AFC North, with the extra NFC game (on the road) coming from the North.

Based off of current standings, our three games that aren't predetermined by schedule rotation would be Buffalo, @ San Diego and @ Green Bay.

Or are the boys OK even if they lose?

I think they only miss the playoffs if they lose the next 2 and the Colts somehow beat the Jags and the Texans. Texans are in the playoffs with a win, a tie, or a Colts' loss this weekend. A Colts loss vs the Jags seems pretty much a lock, especially with the Jags still in contention to move to the #1 or #2 seed i the conference. The Jags are a 5.5 point road favorite.

The Texans are 1 game behind LA and Buffalo. If they beat LA and finish with the same record (or better), they'll jump from 7th to 6th. That will also happen if they finished with the same records as the Bills. Buffalo has Philly this weekend, then closes with the Jets.

So if we saw good fortune this weekend and the Texans beat the Chargers and the Eagles beat the Bills, the Chargers, Texans, and Bills would all be tied at 11-5 with the Texans suddenly in 5th with the top wild card and playing at Pittsburgh opening week of the playoffs, stirring up every Luv ya Blue ghost of my early childhood.

Of course, if the Colts (or the Titans) upset the Jags and the Texans and Jags end up with the same record, the Texans win the division and get the #3 seed.

NFL is rooting for the Chargers tomorrow for sure. Turns the Broncos-Chargers game next week into a massive division winner game and potentially makes the Texans-Colts game a big game.

Interesting note, if the Texans don't win the division it would be the first time they've been the wild card. Thus they will start on the road, they've never won a road playoff game.

Yup, and the backup left tackle that took over for Joe Alt who took over for Slater is out today too. I think a guard is playing Left Tackle for them.
