Bye week not being after the London trip isn't great, either.

We're not the only ones who have to do that (Pittsburgh doesn't have an off week after their overseas trip)...at least it's the Giants the week after.

the division is no joke anymore. Indy, Jax, and even Ten will be better. HOU is going to have to ball out. I think they can do it, but the window continues to shrink. that being said, up north trips to Ptt, Was, Philly shouldn't be gripes to lament about. those squads will have their own struggles, even at home in their home weather.

Indy doesn't have a QB, but other than that I agree.

Stroud will get tested in cold weather for sure. I have seen these 3 confirmed.

Dec 6th @Pittsburgh (SNF)
Dec 13th @Washington
Dec 24th @Philly (X-Mas Eve)

Add a trip to GB in week 17

Is that confirmed? If so, the NFL f'ed them…no way that is true.

NFL is just doing the Texans front office a solid by exposing CJ and making sure they don't make a grave error and giving a CJ a 2nd contract.

Smart move by the Texans, recognize Nico has outplayed the contract and increase it a little to keep optics and locker room happy.

Hahahaha Cj is delusional. He has gotten worse each season and sucked completely and almost unplayable in the playoffs

He statistically had a good season last year, save for the playoffs…your perception doesn't reflect reality.

As someone who bags on CJ pretty hard, and after looking through stats and listening to different podcasts I have to admit this is completely accurate, and it is amazing considering how horrible our running game was.

Playoffs were a whole other matter, but regular season he had a good, not great season.

If we improve the running game next year, like we think we will, CJ performing at the same or a little better level in the regular season will look like a massive improvement to the masses.

Yes, the running game for CJ was ranked 31st, so defenses could key on the passing game and give little effort to stop the run…if the Texans get a running game and CJ plays the same, then I will be first to say the Texans need to make a change. I have faith in CJ that if he even has an average running game this season, he will have an above average season.

CJ's issues in the playoffs almost directly correlate to Nico being out. It can't be stressed enough how much better Nico makes CJ.

Stats don't tell the whole story with CJ. Watching him play and seeing the low IQ football decisions he makes is what drives us nuts. The guy leads the world in running out of bounds for a loss when he could have thrown an incomplete pass into the stands. It's almost like Deion telling Shadeur in college to take sacks so his completion % isn't hurt.

I would argue he makes a lot of high IQ decisions in the passing game, it is often discussed by people that follow the league.

question.... do you normally drink while watching?

I've seen 7 make some of the dumbest throws I've ever seen on multiple occasions

His other problem is with his actual accuracy. Not completion %, but if he puts the ball where it needs to be I dependent on if he should make the throw…

He is among the worst in the league.
CharleyKerfeld
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I still don't understand why he doesn't run more. He has massive tracts of land to run through so many times. If he would just run some and force other teams to dedicate an LB or a nickleback to have to stay home and spy on him, it would free up some more opportunities.
MaxPower

Has a QB ever been that bad in the playoffs and gone on to win a Super Bowl? Montana in 1987 is the only one that comes to mind, though he had already won one so you knew it was in there. Favre was awful in 2001 but his days of winning Super Bowls was over.

Let's not forget about the awful pocket awareness. I know the o-line was terrible, but how many times did CJ move into pressure or a sack instead of avoiding it?

Not sure which "experts" this guy is listening to, but CJ showed alarming signs that he just ain't it.

CJ has had some enormous swings in terms of performance. While he's definitely been trending in the wrong direction, it wasn't that long ago that he put up one of the best rookie seasons in league history. Unless you have someone you really like waiting in the wings, not sure what else there is to do but hope and pray he can find his rookie season form.

So CJ, by your post has had subpar OL play and no running game and yet you are willing to say he "just ain't it"?
