I really don't get the Romo hate. I feel like most of the hate was developed due to how much better he initially was than most other color commentators, which created an arena for discussion about color commentators. Then he just became a fun punching bag. I'd take him over 90% of the other guys every day.

He has predicted more plays exactly as they happened before the fact than every other color guy in history combined.
That's not the end all be all but it shows how aware he is of what's going on. I'm not looking for wet farts from a color guy. I want some sort of insight that I don't see. He offers more of that most everyone else.

Maybe boring, but they are 16-3 and one of the best statistical offenses in the league this year. Hardly unremarkable, and Vrabel deserves a lot of credit for having his 2nd year QB in the MVP conversation.

He's not the worst. He doesn't understand how to fit in a broadcast though. Romo and Nantz have a synergy.
He was really good at it, but that was the early days. I listen to a podcast that did a bit of a Romo deep-dive segment this season on how he's changed. Less insight and more leaning into the cutesy groans and sounds. There was some debate as some of it seems to be direction from production, but he's also just not the type to really put the work in. I think it came very easy and natural early on.

I have a working theory. Wanted to confirm it or not. But my theory is that there are people who like the non traditional and usually those people don't mind either Romo or RG3. While there is a rather large vocal contingent who voices disdain for the both
