PvP isn't as fun in season 2.

My team isn't loaded with meta pokemon, but it still used to win a lot of matches.

The problem is I'm only level 5, but I keep running into teams with azumarill, registeel, altaria, medicham, skarmory.

Shouldn't these guys typically be higher up the ladder? Or maybe I started pvping too early in the season.

I guess I could wait a week and hope for better luck.

Just beat a defense deoxys with my hitmonchan. Kept hitting him with power up bunch and burned both shields. Paid off because he was jacked AF when the guy sent out a lapras afterwards. He only had a little health left (in the red), but counter was doing huge super effective damage. Got him almost into the red and forced him to burn a charge move on a mostly knocked out mon to avoid a KO.

When does Ultra and Master league open up?

Just got an altaria. Sent out hitmonchan to hit a registeel, and they immediately changed to altaria. Hit him with a couple of power up punches and burned a shield, then blasted him out of nowhere with a thunder punch. Knocked out the last half of his HP and must have surprised him because he had two shields left. Finished with em too. Hitmonchan still had about 1/3 of his HP left and did some damage to an alolan raichu before being pulled for clefable to charm it to death. Then hitmonchan got to finish off registeel FTW.

It was actually pretty good in season 1.

I'm working on getting an azumarill and medicham to replace the first 2 tho.

Should I try venusaur?

Got a 9th 10k egg over the weekend and just happened to get enough coins from gyms to buy the adventure pack as well. With the super incubators and half distance deal going on I was able to knock the 3.3km out over the weekend. The results of the hatches:

I finally went 5-0 this morning, too.

Skarmory, Toxicroak (100%!), and Quagsire. I had been using Lapras, but I swapped it out for Quagsire and I've had a lot more success.

I would dump mantine. Venusaur is good if it has frenzy plant and sludge bomb. Do you have a clefable?

I just went 5-0 and then 4-1 w/ a close loss.

Tangela is a good counter for Whiscash I would think, and it's popular right now.

Isn't he mainly Dex filler? I don't have one, but will probably get one from pvp this week.

I think Cobalion is getting some new "signature move" so that may make him more desirable?

They should remove the daily gift limit since they're trying to prevent social interaction and you have to go in public to restock balls and berries.

My Season 1 is going way better than pre-season so far. I'm 82-48, about to hit Rank 8. Mostly these teams:

Shadow Gallade (Confusion, Leaf Blade, Close Combat)
Wigglytuff (Charm, Ice Beam, Dazzling Gleam)
Tropius (Razor Leaf, Leaf Blande, Aerial Ace)

Tropius (ibid)
Wigglytuff (ibid)
Medicham - (Counter, Psychic, Power-Up Punch)

Though now that I look at this, I'm going to change Wiggy's DG into Play Rough. DG takes forever to charge.

How did you get tropius?

I'm having trouble connecting this morning. I'm getting "Error 6" before the battle starts, and other times I get a message saying "cancelling matchmaking".

Still testing it out but a mono team seems to be working well for me today.

Plus counters to any dragons, fairies, ice and neutral to everything but fighting and fire. Unlikely that anyone will have enough fire and fighting for all 3.

Dude who had just happened to be in South Korea during an event in 2018 had some to trade. I remember asking for one under 1500 CP just in case it was going to be useful in PvP (which had just been released), and it's been great for GBL.

So I got tricked by one of them catfishes. I had my Tangela up there. He had already thrown a mud shot earlier so I expected the same, only to get hit with a Blizzard.

I am now really wanting this second charge attack but am struggling with resisting the urge to hit the button. I am lv27 and doing my best to wait until lv30 before expending stardust and candy.

Continue to be patient.

The leveling process slows down considerably in the 30's.

I vaguely recall this "leveling" you speak of.

I actually have seen a similar team today. I run a blaziken and def deoxys with counter, so I feel like I match up well.

How do the ratings work!? I just won 3/5 battles and moved down from 1993 to 1992...that makes no sense to me.

Went 2-3 my next set and dropped to 1977...ratings feel completely random.

I believe it has to do with the ratings of your opponents, If you go 3-2 against people ranked below you, it's not going to help much (or at all, apparently).
