****ing lag/bugs almost screwed me hard. Got a charizard on charizard opening matchup, duked it out for a bit and he switched to swampert. I threw out my alolan muk immediately. I didn't even get an attack off before he hit me with an earthquake and one shotted me. He couldn't have hit my charizard more than once and didn't hit my muk at all. Luckily I pulled out the match and managed 2/3.

My AR setting is always turned off

Ran into my first Articuno last night in Ultra...that thing shreds. I've been trying to run something with ice but not much luck. Have a good Lapras but I feel like I can't get charge moves off fast enough

Was all the way up to 2350 and in the last two days I've plummeted back to 2260 hahaha so sick of this.

Yeah, he's my El Guapo.

He beats my Swampert if I'm not able to bait for earthquake...blizzard puts pressure on Giratina and Flash Cannon can nuke Clefable. He's a monster. I wish I didn't power mine up too far before PVP. V frustrating haha

Unfortunately, I am also running into empoleon and hate him. Beating him is usually based on who he's put out against and timing. If I can knock him down a few notches with clefable and then get swampert in to hydro cannon him, I can do it most of the time.

Also, never quit battles until you know for sure you lost. I just got a good opening match against a machamp with my clefable, only for it to be pulled and an empoleon put out. I did the above and hit it with some charms before pulling my clefable in favor of swampert. I traded blows and finally knocked him down deep into the red before swampert bought the farm. Then clefable came out to finish him off, but he was already kind of beat up. The other guy put out a clefable and then quit. The funny thing was, he probably could have beaten me with that because my giratina stood no chance against even a half dead clefable. All he had to do was knock out my clefable.

This. We also run the same team...I lead swampert tho. Do you have success leading Clefable??

Why the hell can Kantonian Muk learn thunder punch? He almost got my Articuno.

I do...that's a good point. I have been lazy about gifts bc I hate the 7km egg pool so much, but fortunately I am loaded up on 5kms which are also an abomination

The extra red balls from gifts have definitely done their social engineering job of preventing me from going out to spin more stops.

They also offered a bunch at 0.01 each week (poke, great, and then ultra). Plus even not moving much should get you some distance to get a weekly 20-50 balls (whatever is it).

Yeah I've been on top of those. They're just easy to go through if you use incense or Meltan boxes

Need some thoughts, should I throw a second move on the Melmetal I plan to use for master league the next two weeks or Registeel I have for great league that I plan to power up? I feel like I'll be more competitive in Ultra League/Great League when that option comes back around, but Melmetal is a beast in the ML.

My first thought would be Registeel, but mine's been doing so well in Ultra with only one move that maybe the Melmetal would be the better investment. Plus the candy's easier to obtain (for most people).

I didn't think you were! I don't feel like most of the people on this thread would.

Yeah that is what I try to do too...it is just annoying because it is hard to get out and go anywhere. But honestly 7kms are basically just as bad as 5kms. I legit have not gotten a 10km in a few weeks.

I would probably do Regi. He's more of a powerhouse in his league than Melmetal is in his from my experience.

Thoughts on Regi in GL vs UL...unfortunately I only have one right now. He is shiny and has mediocre IVs for GL, but they are pretty good for UL.

He seems much rarer in UL. Idk if it's because people haven't invested or because he's not as good there. I use one in GL and don't have dust or candy to get him up the UL.

Which of your teams do you feel like needs to most help?

Has anyone tried a Swampert/Sceptile/Charizard team? Decent budget squad...I had decent success with it.

I see him a fair amount in UL...he is an absolute tank.

I am not sure, he is a staple in GL, but I debate pushing him up past there since his IVs aren't great for it. Right now I have a Lapras, Azu, Altaria, Vigoroth, Zweilious (1 move), Vigoroth, Alolan Raichu, Serperior, Skarmory, Clefable, Toxicroak and Scrafty...all of which I use a decent amount.

In the UL, I have Giratina, Swampert, Clefable, Snorlax, Charizard, Sceptile, Lucario, Blaziken, Aggron, Armored Mewtwo (1 move), and Gyarados.

Right now he is powered up to the Great League cap, but longterm may be better in the UL?

I've been running Venusuar/Lapras/Charizard today and seeing a lot more Grass/Water/Fire teams that are coming down to leads and how you manage the switching

Just went 5-0 with clefable, swampert, and giratina. Won match 4 because I guess the guy didn't realize swampert had sludge wave. I took out his togekiss when he still has a shield left. If he'd blocked it, I had no answer for that togekiss. Also finally put me over 2000 and level 8.

Went something like 1-19 in Battle League earlier. The game wouldn't let me progress until I won a match lol. I kept having to change lineups since everything was Giratina and 2 of the 3 grass/water/fire, which were conveniently the ones strong to the types I played
