Does it occasionally freeze after you catch a Pokemon? There are periods when it freezes after 75% of the Pokemon I catch, and then period when it doesn't freeze at all. Very, very frustrating. Especially if it freezes after catching a rare Pokemon.

Ive had the same issue. Thankfully it was when I was catching pidgeys or rattatas

Yes, freezes a lot. Thankfully when it does, it means you caught it.
Most of the time
I feel like I just cheated. Caught a 650 CP slowbro at the pond by my gym. I haven't even caught a slowpoke yet. I am level 11 so I assume Pokemon like that will be more common as you level up.

Yes, freezes a lot. Thankfully when it does, it means you caught it.
Most of the time
For me it freezes before it's officially caught, so I don't actually get them.
When it freezes for me I don't ever catch him. However when I reboot he's usually right there to try again.
It is super annoying when gym battles glitch (not ever start or it get stopped w/ 1 hp left) and when pokestops don't work and just say try again later.

Finally got the app to work. Caught some low level pokemon just waiting to pick up my wife's prescription...she is going to HATE this
Anyone got any good spots out near the katy area? We seem to be a desolate wasteland full of weak pokemon. Went out to GBP thinking it would hold some goodies. Saw maby 1-2 pokeshops and thats it.
There some stops and gyms in old Katy.
A lot of people are playing at veterans park (easily 20-30) with lots of lures out right now, and there are a massive amount of pokestops on the mile walk.

About same number at Evans library
I got screwed out of a 5k egg I was incubating. It never alerted me that it was done and didn't give me anything, it just went away.
So freaking tired of Zubats,pidgeys, and Rattatas.
Seeing some info that there are already more users than Tinder and close to Twitter. That's incredible if true.
Anyone got any Austin, RR, Georgetown locations to share?

Grrrr! I just lost another 5k egg! I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong
Game is really fun. A few suggestions (although I haven't checked Reddit, so maybe some of these have been mentioned):
Save your stardust for Pokemon that already have high cp bar so you aren't leveling a crappy Pokemon all the way to the top. I prioritize high cp Pokemon over a higher evolved Pokemon nearly every single time.
Use your dispensable egg things on your longest distance eggs and use your unlimited one on short distance eggs.
Item disposable order early on (as your bags become full) should be potion < revive < fruit < better potions < pokeballs. In other words, just because you have 250 pokeballs, doesn't mean you should be dumping them. Potions are pretty bad and typically not worth the slot unless you get lucky early with a high leveled Pokemon. As you level up, it seems like you get the chance at capturing higher level cp Pokemon and trust me, you will need as many pokeballs as possible!
Take advantage of lures. Much better to sit at a lure than wonder around trying to find Pokemon/poke stops.
Don't put your top Pokemon in the gym. Use your top Pokemon to train against your color gym (which levels up the gym) and then stick one of your lesser Pokemon in the gym.
Additionally, don't try to hold gyms. It's not worth it. Try to get a Pokemon in 2-3 gyms and then get your money. Rinse and repeat the next day. In these early stages of the game, getting numerous elite Pokemon in one gym is rare for any color. Gyms will fall like crazy, regardless of how much time you spend leveling it up.
Figure out how the distance thing for Pokemon works (bottom right thing). Not going to explain it here but has significantly helped me level up specific Pokemon (or obviously find a rare Pokemon). Lots of guides on Reddit for this.

Mind sharing your rough location? I'm level 14 and haven't seen most of those pokemon in my area.
Lucky to be in San Diego for the weekend + All Star game, although I was in Houston for the first 30 or so Pokemon I caught. Honestly, I haven't been going out of my way to play the game, just hiking and sight seeing.
I'm just lucky that you can get incredibly different terrains all within 20-30 minutes in this city. From beach to mountains to city. Gives me a wide range of Pokemon, although I believe visiting an array of different places (regardless of terrain) is the real reason I've seen so many different Pokemon. Sitting at 70 right now I believe.

Is there a trick to leveling up that fast?
I read that if you pop a lucky egg and evolve all your pidgeys, you can rank up pretty quick

Yeah, I should have done that yesterday. After my afternoon bike ride, I evolved 5 pokemon, 3 of which were new evolutions for me. It didn't even cross my mind until about an hour later that I should have done that.

That gym, the John David Crow statue gym and the north entrance of Reed Arena gym should all be pretty interesting on game days.
