There absolutely is because Shroud was just *****ing the other day about he and his boys can't play a match for a min or two before they get jumped and he's not really enjoying it.

He seems like the type of dude who only enjoys a game when he wins

I just did the dam on cold snap and found 4 more weapon attachment blueprints in two runs. I was hitting up the Pale Apartments and Ruby Residence. Those buildings are goldmines.

Ok, that worked. Got several BPs there and in the power generation complex.

Also, the games (as someone who doesn't PvP much) have been really chill (pun intended) lately for the most part. Lots of funny interactions and cooperating to take down ARC. There might be something to the behavior based matchmaking talk.

In general when I solo the matches are pretty chill, but every once in a while I will randomly get jumped by someone. I always try to play friendly.

Idk how people can stream snipe in this game. The odds of getting into the same server as a streamer is rare and how would they even know?

That was a PUBG stream that BurntPeanut was playing

I haven't played duo or trio yet but solos is almost always friendly. I've had more people flat out offer me stuff when I'm looting or we team up to take on bigger arcs than people have jumped me and it isn't even close.

I play friendly. Either the aggression based matchmaking is real or solos is just damn friendly overall.

Negative on the expedition. Don't see a huge reason to wipe unless you have the 5MM for that extra 5 skill points. Still have yet to kill a Queen/Matriarch!

I kind of love and hate this. When I play solo 90% of the people I meet are friendly. On the occasion that someone isn't, they kill me almost every time because they wait till I have my back turned. I went into a solo game to kill people, did it, and felt so genuinely guilty that I haven't done it again. I'm just worried because the friendly runs are starting to get a little boring and RDMing people makes me feel bad.
Fenrir

I don't mind it because my buddy will be joining me soon and I'll have plenty of opportunity for PvP in duos.

Solos definitely feels like most people just want to get some looting and quests done for the most part but I've had a couple of people wait until I pull up the looting menu to shoot me in the back. However I've also had people curb stomp that same person in response so I was at least entertained while I was downed.

I upgraded all the workbenches and got tired of the game. It lost its flavor. I haven't played it since unlocking the last bench to lvl 3. I don't have many blue prints but have enough to do any missions

Solos is safe maybe 70% of the time, but there are some sneaky *******s that wait for you to turn around just to kill you and take your stuff.

Duos is safe maybe 50% of the time.

Trios - never safe. It's shoot on sight unless a squad gets the jump on you and you know you are doomed and you say "friendly". They might spare you.

Noodles232 is my tag if anyone ever wants to play

My solo runs have been nearly 100% friendly and cooperative, even the high loot runs like storm and night raid.

I wonder if, with the behavior based matchmaking, if behavior in duos and trios affects solo matchmaking? I don't get the opportunity to play those as much as I'd like, but the ones I've had have been death matches.

I think so. I don't PVP, went 40 raids w/out being engaged, including teaming with others. I then teamed with some SOS guys and we killed maybe 5, and then the next 2 solo runs I was sniped.

Think there is some truth to the "Aggro vs Passive" lobbies.

A buddy of mine (who is hilariously anti PVP - he needs the GOOP) and I had 5-10 rounds of stress free blueprint hunting. Not my preferred method, but I digress.

The other night, I run some with my PVP / Stella Montis friend that loves playing I'M THE SCATMAN in Prox chat and we dance and throw glow sticks. Those lobbies were much more sweaty.

Anywho - here's peanut clip of the day.

Already seen that clip a few times, but watched it again. It's almost too perfect.

I haven't had much time to play over the last few weeks, but I'm planning to jump on today. Does anyone have a good video or guide on best practices for a newb? I've got about eight hours in the game so far and I'm not sure what the most effective way is to improve quickly.

I tried playing last night and kept getting swarmed by the Arc or taken out by other players. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

You mostly want to creep around and try to avoid the ARC as best you can at the beginning, well and the middle and end too unless you go out with the goal of killing them for parts. You are looking out for players, mostly.

But at the beginning, get in, fill up your backpack, and get out. You want to sell/recycle items for materials and build up a decent stash of both. And you dont have to go to the areas on the map marked with yellow or red boundaries to find loot (although your quests later on will certainly have you going there), it's everywhere on the map. Staying on the outskirkts and looting the apartment buildings on Dams battlegrounds or exterior buildings and avoiding hotspots is a good strategy until you start getting better guns or more comfortable with PVP combat because thats where they sweaty bois head immediately when they spawn.

From here, you can start spending your credits on better kits to bring into the game.

There is a guide on what to keep and what to sell/recycle somewhere -- you will want to check in on that ASAP so you dont end up selling something that you need to upgrade your work benches or build your expedition.

I remember selling 3-4 rusty gears before finding they are somewhat rare (not really, if you know where to look - car hoods and busses), but I was kicking myself after.

So basically you want to build up your stash (credits and materials), upgrade your work benches so you can make better stuff, and keep your eye out for blueprints because even though you upgrade your workbenches, you still need to have blue prints to be able to make most things that are worth crafting. Make sure to check out what bench items you need for the next level and click the "Track Resources" or whatever button. this will create a visible icon on each piece of loot that you need while you are looting topside.

If you are low on stuff, take in a free kit. You wont have a safe pocket, which sucks, but you can still make it out a decent amount of time with a full pack.

if you extract with a free kit augment, you can trade it at the clinic for a green augment which does have a safe pocket for your next run.

Ferro and Stitcher are good guns, kettle is OK (unless you are a macro abuser), and rattler is (still) trash -- these are grey guns you get from a free kit.

Also, you can use ARC power cells to recharge half of a light shield if you are in a jam and have no more rechargers. (Almost every arc drops at least 1 + the husks you can find on the ground).
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!
Fenrir

If you're in close proximity to ARC avoid running. You can crouch walk and regular walk pretty close to ARC if they aren't looking at you but running draws their attention every time.

Are you playing solos, duos or trios? The amount of PvP varies between each significantly. Trios are shoot on sight. Duos is a mixed bag. Vast majority of my solo runs don't involve being shot at by a person at all. The people that do PvP in solos by and large are gigantic ******* that hide in dark spaces and jump out like a trapdoor spider. If you can run in a group in solos you'll be safe because the guy that starts shooting will get dumped on by everyone else very quickly.

ok, sorry if this rambles a little, but here is what I'd say:

- practice the maps with free loadouts; don't spend all your time, energy & resources crafting decent gear until you understand the general layout of the maps

- once you do start crafting weapons, craft the lower level ones; stitchers, kettles, ferros, etc. '

- bring in three stacks of ammo, 5 green shield rechargers, & 5 med patches

- on your skill tree, work towards in map crafting (its something on the red side of the tree); also, focus a lot of your early points on building up stamina (somewhere in the middle/yellow tree); eventually, work towards the green tree and quiet breaching/faster breaching/looting/etc.

- regarding arc, they normally have a coned view in front of them, so if you stay on the side/peripheries of where they are looking, generally you'll be ok

- if they spot you, position yourself between an object and their bullets (usually you can hear their guns spin up and can move according); if they have you lined up and in their sights, dodge roll to the side away from their sprays
-the hornets (flying drone with metal plates in front) are generally the hardest to take down, but ferros do quick work of the wasps and can take down hornets (aim for back thrusters; usually he'll lifet up and show you the back two unprotected thrusters, shoot those for faster takedown); wasps are generally unprotected but move a little faster

- if you get spotted by a leaper (spider thing); find cover (generally behind a door inside a building will protect you); but remember -- if you engage arc and start shooting them without a silencer attachment -- it will usually invite hostile raiders who think you are an occupied target who is easy prey

- stay near the edges of the maps until you learn the basics and better mechanics, then work towards some of the middle/higher loot areas; practice looting, taking down arcs, and successfully extracting; it feels foreign & weird right now because you are simply unpracticed --- practice more and more and then you'll begin to feel more at home; when i first started the game i thought *****.. wasted $40, so dumb; but I stayed with it and one day you'll wake up and feel like you understand the extractor game style

- if you engage other raiders in combat, aim at their upper torso/head as it helps take them down faster; but while in combat, familiarize yourself with the "hotkey" to quickly reshield or patch up with meds; the difference in most gunfights comes down to who can reshield or patch up more quickly than another raider; unless they get the drop on you --- then generally you'll die pretty quick before you even know what hit you

- like fighting arc, fighting other players also comes down to peeking back & forth from cover, getting a shot, reloading, and doing it again; if you just aimlessly run out in the open and expect to take down a target, you'll be easy prey; use cover to your advantage in gunfights (with arc or other raiders)

- in settings, go to "Audio" and make sure "Nightmode" is turned on; it turns up some of the smaller ambient sounds (like footsteps) and will help you know if someone is running up to you or not; and thats another thing, try not to blindly run everywhere as that makes a lot more sounds; walk or crouch when entering buildings or high trafficked areas -- its ok to stop & listen as you may get an idea if someone is in a building or nearby (which will help you position yourself in the event it turns into a gunfight).

- while you are a "young" or inexperienced player, avoid the bigger arcs (like leapers, Bastions, crawlers, etc.) as you are not ready to take them on; each arc has a weakness -- watch tiktoks or youtube shorts from arc raider creators to get some more insight into what these weaknesses are; i learned a lot about this game from watching social media shorts

- eventually you'll begin to learn & understand what materials craft certain items, and eventually you'll learn where those certain materials are generally found in the maps; it'll take some time, but you'll eventually sort it out; also, when you do start crafting, craft lower level stuff until you work your way up to higher level items; i generally only craft green or blue weapons (very rarely do i craft pink or yellow); "blueprints" are what teach you how to craft items like weapons, augments (shield things) and items like grenades & ammo upgrades; in order to "learn" the item, you must find the blueprint in the map & successfully extract with it; then once you extract and its in your inventory while at home base/Speranza, right click or open up the menu on the item and select "Learn & consume" (or its the other way around, I forget); do not sell the blueprint because they are rare and you need to learn them first (eventually you'll find another one of the same blueprint, those you can sell, and you'll know if you've "learned" it by whether or not the found blueprint has a white checkmark at the top righthand corner of the blueprint). Generally speaking, guns & attachments are more highly sought after but equally as important are the grenade, augments & ammo upgrades. Hell if you find a blueprint at all, its a good thing.

- you'll eventually learn what you can extract with, what you generally want to find in the map and take with you, and what you want to sell. sure you'll make some mistakes and sell something you need, but load back into a map and hunt for it again.

- to summarize, when you are bored, watch tiktoks or youtubes about it and you'll get a LOT of helpful insights that I only partially hit on here

Thanks!

I play all modes depending on friends online. I've been able to get a few blueprints from friends that are further along than me. They bring them in game and then drop them for me.

My favorite death yesterday was getting hit by lightning while I was in a menu, fully thinking I was in a building. I didn't realize I was in a middle courtyard. Later, I was hiding in a bush waiting for a Rocketeer to pass, when I realized the lightning was about to strike me again and probably kill me. I panicked and tried to run. It was ugly and frustrating, but pretty funny,I got absolutely wrecked by the Rocketeer.

This game givith and taketh away.

Yesterday I had amazing raids where I got three matriarch reactors, an Aphelion blueprint among 3 others I didn't have, and lots of good loot. Only for my next few raids are all with a bunch of rats and pvpers to the point I started running freebie kits so I didn't lose anything.

Today I found TWO bobcat blueprints and got 3 queen reactors after doing the harvester event a few times. My first raid tho? Lost my epic survival augment, blue shield, anvil and Venator. The lows are so low sometimes but the highs…boy the highs make it worth it.

Still fun though.

I've mostly been playing solo which has been pretty fun overall. I'm doing a lot of quests and slowly learning the game, so I think it works well for that... I can go at my own pace.

I believe the game tends to put you in servers with other solo's because it's extremely rare when I come across parties. And the solo community is mostly nice... we help each other with quest questions, etc. I also have had people save my *** with defibs which is awesome!
